Love Kitty Pink's range of luxury boudoir table and floor lamps inspired by design led fabrics. This purple peacock lamp was created with Sarah Walden's 'Yer So Vain' fabric from her Peacoquette series (Spoonflower) and is decorated with irridescent coque feathers and braiding. That's how I describe the combination of Materials and Textures found in these 2 Lamps:: the simple combination of Wood + Steel + Paper.......
The rePurposed Industrial Timber was the inspiration for this Lamp.
I read an article about a scorched Cedar Siding,
(“Shou-Sugi-Ban” is Japanese (焼杉板)
used in Japanese Buildings- and that inspired the "scorched" texture.
Take a circular entryway (vestibule).
Create a pair of Burnished, Rust Patinaed/ wooden top tables (with Aluminum vases built in to the tops), that match the curve of the walls- add 4 amazing Rice paper>Muslin, over steel sconces- light with Cold Cathode lighting...and you get ONE fuc**ing amazing entryway!
Dimensions are 60" tall by 18" wide.

A Minimalist Modern floor lamp.
IKEA sells a glass cube "lamp"-
meant to sit on a shelf, or the floor.
I then "hack"/or modify this glass cube
as an "element" of the total design of a floor lamp series-
and this is number 1 in that series- of IKEAhacks.
“Shou-Sugi-Ban” is Japanese (焼杉板) technique for scorching wood- that I used for this base.
rePurposed, repurposing,recycling, modifying are all considered forms of "hacks"- making a change in the way that something was originally intended to be used.

The artistic gourd lamp shines its magic light and creates a mystical and romantic atmosphere in the room. The Stainless Steel Frames are 1st wrapped/clad in Muslin.
Later a Composite is made with Rice papers, adhesives,Fire Retardant Chemicals, and then sealed and sanded and sealed again.
The final effect is like Parchment, or Velum.
These will be mounted to a Stainless Steel "pan" /backplate- that will hold the bulbs to the wall- and allow the "shade" to be removed for changing the bulbs.
3rd prize Winner, in Design Within Reach Chicago's- Get Lit Contest held June of '08.

These Lovely Little Lights add great detail & focal interest
to this nook created by Built-in Storage. The sconces are 18" long by 4.25" square.
They are built on a Stainless Steel frame- then clad with a Rice Paper Composite I developed (TOP SECRET!) and later sealed to prevent marring of the Paper Composite. The final result is a material that is tight as a drum.

This canopy, and the polished Stainless hanging mechanism is a first for me.
Previous versions of this Lamp, have a different method of suspension and Illumination (this one uses a Osram Linestra ).
