Well, I made some progress today. Tweeking the design as I go, naturally! I tried paper piecing, but didn't like all the bulk I was getting from the seams, so it will be fused, raw edge applique. Thinking I might swap out those three pale geese, though - waddaya think?
I had the colours in my head for this one but wasn't sure exactly what it would finally look like. I do tend to design 'as I go' unless a customer is very specific. This has to be one of my personal favourites xx

This pojagi-style quilt is 48” by 48.” It is the center motif for my daughter’s wedding chuppah.
I love to design as I go and have enjoyed working with a monochrome of white for the occasion.
White is the interaction of all colors.
Its transparency and the seam-allowance frames that appear when light passes through, have forced me to work quietly and deliberately to be accurate in contrast to the randomness of the design. I have used many vintage pieces from my stash, cotton and linen, hand embroidery and reverse applique and have pieced it exclusively on my Featherweight because of its beautiful stitch.

I'm trying my hand at embroidery. I don't know very many stitches yet but I'm enjoying the process of making up the design as I go along.
This has been uploaded to show the pencil mapping sketch I start with--I lightly pencil in the placements and design as I go this way---I happen to love the F/C Grip 2001 pencil set someone gave me as a gift--feels good in my hand. I will now switch to probably a Pitt pen to draw details and make changes before I add the watercolor pencil and waterbrush work. I have not a clue what I will do for sure, and that makes it a trip that's fun for me---it's all expirementing and I hardly ever like it till it is completely done..I know it took the clerk asking my friend Gail, that question that sparked this being the next page I would do....I told her I was an illustrator and would be perhaps using the photo in my work---weather she knew exactly what I meant I don't know ,but she smiled and seemed at ease then......Winna

Handknitted choker featuring a variety of fibres and wool in black with Svarowski and glass crystals and beads knitted into the design as I go with a separate wool yarn. "Eyelash" yarns creates areas of interest and sparkling crystals make this choker suitable for evening wear with a little black dress or daytime casual.
Knitting up a gradient Quilted Loop Scarf; working out the design as I go (from probably obvious inspiration). Front of the stitch pattern shows on the bottom half of the picture; the reverse shows on the top.
Yarn: Sundara Sock Yarn in End of Day (lighter orange) and Ember over Flame (darker)
Needles: US 9 - 5.5 mm
A project to prepare my front patio for a new trellis and shade canopy designed by an architect friend. First I had to cut and bust up the old patio slab (it will eventually be replaced) and dig a thirty-foot trench. Rebar was placed, a footing was poured with five steel posts cast in place. Next, I have to replace the flagstones up to where the new concrete slab will be poured. Finally, the trellis and canopy supports will be fabricated in aluminum, installed, painted and glazed with bronze skylight plastic. Photos to comes as things progress.

my own design as I go along. Louet Euroflax Originals. too hot for anything else. the stripes are Fibonacci. first doubled, second part singles. next will come a lace layer.
this project feels very organic.
