clouds came across the path of the sun, but it disappears beyond the forest and the land falls hastily in twilight../ Nedstigning...molnen ställer sig i vägen för solen, men den slinkar undan och sänker sig bakom skogen, skymningen faller snabbt över landet.../ Descenso..., unas nubes se atraviesan en el camino del sol, pero desaparece tras el bosque y el campo entra de golpe en penumbras...(DSC_7584-2)

Enjoy!

I met these two walkers who seemed to have had enough of the cold wet and windy conditions up top. Photo taken on Comb Crags, as a brief sunny spell brushes Middle Tongue on the flanks of Helvellyn.

A tulip doesn’t strive to impress anyone. It doesn’t struggle to be different than a rose. It doesn’t have to. It is different. And there’s room in the garden for every flower.

St. Pauli-Elbtunnel

Hamburg

Out of the bosom of the Air

Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,

Over the woodlands brown and bare,

Over the harvest-fields forsaken,

Silent, and soft, and slow

Descends the snow.

Wairēinga Scenic Reserve does a nice job at maintaining and allowing views of the falls as you descend.

This bird and the pose just makes me think of an angel coming down from above.

In this shot, the bird was heading towards the feeder but he wasn't quite within the sweet spot for the best focus. He hit that just as he was landing and also as he left the feeder.

So the sharpness is definitely lacking a bit but I thought the overall aesthetics were pleasing anyway so I decided I share it. Can't always get that perfection but sometimes we get what we get.

And it's so rare to see these birds do anything other than scale up and down a tree trunk. So I'll take it, even if it's not perfect.

Nothing is so beautiful as Spring —

When weeds in wheels, shoot long and lovely and lush;

Thrush's eggs look little low heavens, and thrush

Through the echoing timber does so rinse and wring

The ear, it strikes like lightnings to hear him sing;

The glassy peartree leaves and blooms, they brush

The descending blue; that blue is all in a rush

With richness; the racing lambs too have fair their fling.

Normally there are steps down from Craigshannoch, but descending the steeper slopes is tricky in the deep snow, as you can't quite see where you're stepping, and with crampons rocks can be treacherous.

Here is another opportunity capture that presented itself when down in the underground fort in Maine. The standing water made a neat reflection there in the tunnel section. Was able to catch this young lad coming back down the stairs.

Unfortunately I don't have much time to take photos at the moment as I'm busy with preparing my move to another apartment and also there's a lot going on at work (will have to change something about that too, and soon). Anyway, I guess I'll keep posting holiday photos from last month for some time...

Happy Crazy Tuesday!!
