A complex time. Many levels and layers. A lot is changing right now, willingness to compromise and flexibility are the order of the day – and not complaining so much if you are rather well (I try anyway). With today's topic I came across this cardboard in search of suitable material for layering. Cardboard is also used by many homeless people to protect themselves from the cold. This time is incredibly serious for the poorest in the world – and I don't know if a good fairy really helps ...

Anyway, I wish you all the best, take care of yourself and keep an eye on your loved ones!

Oh, and yes – I still have a lot of peas in the freezer ;-)

"The Scream" On Black

Kodak Ektar 100 expired with Mamiya RB67 and Sekor 50 mm

"Bust of the Soul of one Damned" (Massimiliano Soldani-Benzi 1702 , after Bernini) from the collection of His Highness Prince Hans-Adam II of Liechtenstein, and recently on display with many other fine bronzes in the Liechtenstein Garden Palace in Vienna's 9th District.

It was a wonderful exhibition with a major fault - the lighting. Hard lighting directly from overhead, casting heavy shadows and creating harsh highlights. On my first visit I didn't try to take a single picture. I went back the next day with the Pentax K-1 and two fine Takumar lenses, knowing what I would be dealing with, and determined to make the best of it. Luckily I was able to get some material, but it all requires extensive processing.

For Sliders Sunday I've done this heavily manipulated version using the processing facilities provided in the Pentax K-1, with some slight adjustments afterwards in SilkyPix Developer Studio Pro 9.

On the picture three of Edvard Munch’s most famous paintings are displayed: The Scream/Skrik (1910?), Anxiety/Angst (1894) and Despair/Fortvilelse (1894). A further image of The Scream in the comment field.

Edvard Munch (1863–1944) is probably Norway's most famous painter. The Scream is Munch's most famous work and one of the most recognizable paintings in all art.

Somehow this growth on a tree in the Idstein forest reminds me to the painting "The Scream" by Edvard Munch.

"Der Schrei der Natur" (The Scream of Nature) is the title Munch gave to these works, all of which show a figure with an agonized expression against a landscape with a tumultuous orange sky. Arthur Lubow has described The Scream as "an icon of modern art, a Mona Lisa for our time."
