Japanse Sierkwee is een heester behorende tot de Rosaceae (rozenfamilie) ,
stekelige bladverliezende heesters die van nature voorkomen in de bossen van China en Japan. De bloemen in wit, roze, rood, oranjerood verschijnen steeds op het naakte hout voor de bladeren gevormd worden.
De vruchten zijn appelvormig , rond en worden geel als ze rijp zijn, heerlijk aromatisch en te gebruiken in confituur en gelei.

Japanese quince is a shrub belonging to the Rosaceae (rose family) ,
prickly deciduous shrubs that occur naturally in the forests of China and Japan. The flowers in white, pink, red, orange-red always appear on the bare wood before the leaves are formed.
The fruits are apple-shaped, round and turn yellow when ripe, wonderfully aromatic and can be used in jams and jellies.
Thanks to depth of field, we can see the interior of the store. The photography is taken outside the store, in front of the window.
Growth tips have been quickly getting larger and more deep green. When still new they were good to eat, but now they're getting to be too tough to chew.
