LINGUAGGIO DEI FIORI: è considerata la pianta della profezia e della fedeltà.
ANEDDOTI E CREDENZE: la prima attribuzione la si deve al fatto che, secondo la tradizione, se si esprime un desiderio e con un sol soffio si fanno volare tutti i semi del pollone, il desiderio si avvererà. La seconda potrebbe derivare dalla caparbietà di questa pianta, che cresce ovunque, anche dove non è desiderata, e che sopravvive e si riproduce facilmente e velocemente.

De paardenbloem is bloedzuiverend, eetlustopwekkend, urine uitdrijvend en laxerend, bevat veel vitamine C en heeft een gunstige uitwerking op de spijsverteringsorganen, lever en nieren
De wortel in gedroogde vorm wordt wel tegen nier- en galkwalen gebruikt.
Afkooksel van de wortels, verse worteltinctuur of vers geperst wortelsap van de paardenbloem wordt gebruikt voor de behandeling van artritis.
De wortels en bladeren hebben door de aanwezige bitterstoffen een eetlustopwekkende werking.
De melk van de plant kan gebruikt worden tegen puistjes door ze rechtstreeks aan te brengen.
Het sap van de bloem zou helpen tegen wratten.

Paardenbloem
Van de bloemen kan een honingachtige siroop worden gekookt. Ook kan er jam mee worden gemaakt. In Engeland bestaat een traditionele frisdrank waaraan deze siroop is toegevoegd
Koeien, schapen en geiten gebruiken de paardenbloem als medicijn. Taraxacum is Oudgrieks voor 'medicijn tegen darmstoornis', en de paardenbloem kent in de kruidengeneeskunde ook nog verschillende andere toepassingen. De mogelijke ondersteuning van de leverfunctie van melkvee is voor de melkveehouderij dan ook een belangrijk aspect van de paardenbloem.

La sola cosa che l'uomo ha inventato è stata quella di copiare a man bassa dalla Natura. Persino il verde ornamentale, così lezioso e spesso ridondante, è ispirato agli insiemi e alle combinazioni cromatiche spontanee. In questo caso, ad esempio, la natura ha creato un'aiuola di bugula (Ajuga reptans), attenuando la monotonia del blu con un tocco di giallo. Due specie semplicissime e plebee, per creare un insieme di Bellezza ..... ..
Il nome ufficiale Taràssaco proviene dal greco tarakè "scompiglio", e àkos "rimedio".
La pianta viene chiamata anche "dente di leone" a causa della forma dentata delle foglioline, oppure "soffione" per via della palla lanosa che contiene i semi.
Infine esiste un ultimo nome con cui il taràssaco è conosciuto: "piscialetto" (per le sue proprietà diuretiche).
