I work at dental lab (Harmony Dental Lab) on the edge of downtown Jacksonville, FL...
This is pretty cool...their latest "thing" is this ambulance they bought and are converting inside and out into a traveling mini-lab.
The idea is to go to the dentists and complete the patients crown in one visit. That's from prep to seated crown in a couple of hours total.
And guess who got to do the photography for the advertising we are putting out...you guessed it...me!
Now of course they are cropped and set into this really cool background on the ads, but still...
I don't think the website is up and running yet. This first prototype will, I believe, be operating in the New England area.

I just got the most awesome job today! It's at a really good dental lab that's owned by one of the guys who actually wrote the book (literally) on Dental Lab Technology. Plus he's super nice and they all care about quality there. Which is exactly what i care about. And i'll get to learn from the best so i'm super stoked. :D I start January 2nd!

The dental labs at Community Care College were recently updated to better equip our dental assisting students as they receive real, hands-on training before they enter the field.

I'm getting to wax gold crowns at my new job! I'll also be finishing the gold which is super cool and a great starting point for me, i think. I waxed up (carved and sculpted) this tooth and invested it. And then another guy cast it. My boss finished it to show me the steps one last time before i started working on a different one today. I love this job!
