EMD Demo SD70ACE's 1202/1203 lead E280-27 and 130 empties of Duke Power and Electric coal hoppers off of the CSX Pittsburgh Subdivision and restrict on the CSX Mon Subdivision at McKeesport, Pennsylvania.

This was the Pittsburgh's area first taste of these demo units and I must say...they look exceptionally sharp, and sound great. The horns are louder than all hell though.

Stay tuned, as there's plenty more to come!

Manifestation pour les libertés et contre les idées d'extrême droite

Caen, 12 juin 2021

Fredericksburg, Virginia

I have noticed an increased hostility toward photographers among some of the demonstrators recently. Aside from the idea of everyone exercising their freedoms, I wonder at the attitude of those who participate publicly to those who are best able to let the world know that their demonstrations continue.

Today this demonstration was held against establishing an artificial island north of Copenhagen.

The island, Lynetteholm, will measure 2,8 km2 and will require 80 billion (80.000.000.000 kilos) ton earth to fill. In 30 years, when it's done, 35.000 people should have a home here. It will also function as climate protection.

People are demonstrating against the sludge that will be dumped in the water, killing the surroundings and environment, as well as all the sludge has to be transported through Copenhagen the next 30 years - an estimated 4.850.000 truck loads.

The protesters are standing on a bicycle and pedestrian bridge in the middle af Copenhagens harbour, waiting for boats that also support the protest, to arrive. The sign says "save Køge Bay and Øresunds environment"

Rosy: What is the demonstration about?

Ivy: The town thinks there are too many white tailed deer. They want to bring in sharp shooters to cull them. The town asked for a count of the deer. A study was done and it turned out there are far less deer than they thought. But the town wants to go ahead with their plan. It is very hard when there are too many deer because they eat all the foliage and then starve in the winter. The demonstrators do not want deer killed.

Rosy: How sad!

Ivy: But as I said, the numbers show the deer population is dwindling because of use of birth control.

Rosy: I even see hunters.

Ivy: They do not want the town to hire sharp shooters if there is an over abundance of deer. They hunt them to eat. The town can raise the amount of deer the hunters are allowed to shoot. But the town really wants to hire the sharp shooters.

Rosy: I notice you did not give an opinion Ivy.

Ivy: Holly taught me that a good reporter should be impartial. But you know how I feel Rosy

Rosy: Where is Holly? I would think she would be here.

Ivy: Aunt Sozzielou and Edna invited her over to have some ripe Cornish brie with them..

I don't normally do political photographs but thought these two photographs are an exception. There was a demonstration in Melbourne CBD for Syria today (1st September 2013) for the terrible atrocities that are happening in that country. I wanted to capture the mood by posting these two photographs.

When scraping, the paper needs to be the right amount of wetness: too wet and the paint...

Greater Manchester Police is grateful to the community of Manchester following a demonstration in the city centre on Saturday.

An operation was put in place by Greater Manchester Police, Manchester City Council and the community in the lead up to the demonstration, to facilitate the protest.

The police and Council worked with event organisers and local community members to agree a suitable area for protestors to hold a static demonstration.

The demonstration, which took place in Albert Square, was attended by around 700 English Defence League protestors and 350 from the counter demonstrators.

In total police made 15 arrests for public order offences, twelve were affiliated to the EDL and three were affiliated to the UAF.

There was an increased police presence to manage the demonstration and ensure that local businesses, residents and shoppers felt reassured.

The EDL demonstrators met at Water Street and the police controlled their movement to the demonstration site at Albert Square. Once the protest had finished, police then picked the protesters up in buses and took them back to their coaches and train stations across the city.

The UAF demonstrators met at Piccadilly gardens and walked up to Albert Square. Once the protests finished police facilitated their walk back to Piccadilly gardens.

Chief Superintendent John O’Hare said: “I would like to thank both the people of Manchester and the majority of protestors for their conduct.

“It was always going to be a challenging operation with tensions running high between two groups of people who are vehemently opposed to each other.

“There were fifteen arrests and out of a thousand protesters it is not uncommon for an event of this size.

“GMP respects everyone's right to a protest, but at the same time we have to balance this with the concerns of people in our local communities.

“We, the council and the communities of Manchester have worked hard over the last couple of weeks in order to facilitate this protest in a safe and responsible manner, reducing the risk of disorder by ensuring there were no surprises. Today, this work has paid off.

“There was only minimal trouble at any point during the day and for most of Manchester city centre, it was just a case of business as usual."

Councillor Bernard Priest, Manchester City Council's executive member for neighbourhood services, said: "While nobody in Manchester wanted this event to be held here, it is to the credit of both Greater Manchester Police and Manchester's residents that today's rally passed without serious incident. I'd like to thank them for their conduct today.

"The police handled the event excellently, with protestors escorted to and from the protest area as planned, and members of our many diverse communities showed the good judgement to ignore the rally and treat the day just as they would any other Saturday in our thriving city centre."
