EMDX SD70ACe P4 demonstrators bring CSX coal train N290 across the Stilesboro Branch in the last rays of light on August 23, 2013 as train rolls out the few remaining miles to Georgia Power's Plant Bowen near Euharlee, Georgia.
The dark Krampus found the demoness fair,
Innocent and wild, with pink flowing hair.
He took her to the icy peaks to stray,

Cruising down the Craig Branch with 3 EMD SD70Ms, winding their way through the double horseshoe curve at Crater with coal for the CSDU power plant in Colorado Springs. It was an incredibly lucky day. June 1993

I had to go all the way to Nebraska to see the pride of Pennsylvania! Two of the General Electric Evolution Series Tier 4 demonstrators (with a third one pushing on the rear of the train) are seen here stretching their legs on the BNSF Angora Subdivision, running loaded hoppers of Wyoming coal outside Sidney, NE. The tracks run adjacent to US 385, the Gold Rush Byway, setting up the perfect opportunity to drop the shutter and pace the train at track speed. Thanks to Philip Banks for the steady hand at the wheel.
The team at General Electric are the champions of the railroad world right now: these locomotives are the first, and so far the the only, to meet the strict EPA Tier 4 emissions rules that went into effect in 2015.

Saturday morning, July 29, at 8:00 the elevator will be imploded. Once a huge facility that stored and shipped grain from western Ohio and eastern Indiana. Storage capacity of 2,000,000 bushels. Taken from Hopple Stree viaduct over Mill Creek. All of the grain was gathered from and hauled away by the Cincinnati, Hamilton and Dayton Railroad. There were five railroad sidings at this location.
Q647 heads south climbing the grade out of Emerson with a recently reactivated C40-9W, originally a C44-8W that was essentially a demo unit for the Dash 9 series locomotive, on the point. 6-21-21
If you look close at the sign above the right front tire it says "Crown Coach Corporation". At one time Crown was the dealer from Prevost Car in the West. I am led to believe this bus photo was taken around 1975, and the bus was being operated by Embree Buses, on New Years day.
