Spinning serenely in the heart of the Virgo Cluster, Messier 100 is one of the most majestic grand design spiral galaxies known to us.
Also cataloged as NGC 4321, this face-on beauty showcases tightly wound spiral arms, glowing with star-forming regions and interlaced with dark dust lanes. At approximately 55 million light-years from Earth, M100 spans over 100,000 light-years — rivaling the Milky Way in size and elegance. Its well-defined structure and active star-forming activity make it a key object of study in understanding galactic evolution.

Taken with a TMB92L, Canon T3i DSLR, and Celestron Advanced VX mount. Consists of 38 light and 38 dark frames, each a 60-second exposure at ISO 800, stacked in DeepSkyStacker and processed in Photoshop.
Photographed with my brand new toy - I had to wait several months for it... the Zwo Seestar S50 Smart Telescope.
After a few rainy days, the first photo of a galaxy:
M33 is a spiral galaxy in the triangle constellation in the northern fixed star sky between the constellations Andromeda and Aries. After the Andromeda Galaxy, it is the second-brightest spiral galaxy in the night sky and one of our galaxy closest.
On the left edge of the photo, the interrupted light trail of satellite(s) is visible (Starlink?).
The photo consists of many individual images, each exposed for 10 seconds over a period of 48 minutes and automatically stacked by the Smart Telescope. This suppresses image noise and reveals more details - the longer the recording time, the clearer the result.
I then edited the resulting photo with Luminar Neo and jpg-Illuminator.

Hier ist nach einigen Regentagen das erste Foto mit einer Galaxie:
M33 (Dreiecksgalaxie oder Triangulumgalaxie) ist eine Spiralgalaxie im Sternbild "Dreieck" am nördlichen Fixsternhimmel zwischen den Sternbildern Andromeda und Widder. Sie ist nach dem Andromedanebel die zweithellste Spiralgalaxie am Nachthimmel und eine der unserer Galaxie nächstgelegenen.
Am linken Rand des Fotos ist die unterbrochene Lichtspur eines oder mehrerer Satelliten sichtbar (Starlink?).
Das Foto besteht aus vielen Einzelbildern, die während eines Zeitraums von 48 Minuten jeweils 10 Sekunden belichtet und durch das Smart Telekop automatisch "gestackt" (gestapelt) wurden. Dadurch wird das Bildrauschen unterdrückt und es werden mehr Details sichtbar - je länger die Aufnahmezeit, desto klarer also das Ergebnis. Danach habe ich das so entstandene Foto mit Luminar Neo und jpg-Illuminator etwas nachbearbeitet.

same image as the previous one posted however this was post processed using a more saturation and a cooler white balance. this has more artistic license in my opinion but it has an aesthetic about it that i couldn't resist sharing. Which one do you like better and why? I'd love to hear an opinion
In this image you see the summer triangle region of the milky way cropped just above the constellation scutum and the star Altair. the cygnus region of the milky way is striking in this image. You can begin to see the pink colors ot the North American Nebula near the star Deneb. this is a composite of 5 images shot at different lengths of exposure and settings blended together in post processing using a manual stacking process. My first go at Prime Focus of M42 using the new scope. Fairly pleased with this being a single frame and so close to LHR too. Must pull my finger out with the whole stacking thing as I know It will improve my AP.
A nice area of sky in my opinion :) lots of emission nebulosity around, especially with the hydrogen alpha filter! this is Ha filtered capture of ngc6914 in mono - slightly different angle as the other ngc6914's so i didnt add it :P just processed separately - doesnt look too bad :) about 4 x 8 min and one 10min exp ED80/350D / EQ6 h-alpha 12nm filter uided by finderscope 9x50mm phd2

The Dumbbell Nebula is a beautiful planetary nebula in the constellation Vulpecula. Its relatively high surface brightness makes it visible in virtually all telescopes (even binoculars).
For this one I borrowed a *real* astro CCD camera from a friend (thanks John!). It sees the red light of the Hydrogen emissions much better than my Nikon (which has an IR blocking filter that also partially blocks the part of the spectrum that Hydrogen emits in). Compare to my shot from two years ago where the blue Oxygen emissions show up much more.

Taken wit my D7100 and 8" SCT telescope using a range of ISOs, 500, 600, 1000 and 1250 at varying exposures from 20 seconds to 3 minutes, with a combined total exposure time of 1 hour 5 mins.
The galactic center of the Milky Way rises gracefully over the cemetery of Normalville, PA as Mars shines brightly on the left. This is a panorama of 10 images stitched together to capture this much beauty in one.
My second attempt at shooting M42 on a rare night of clear sky in Singapore. Taken at Changi Beach - a place located at the eastern end of Singapore main island. Night sky there is definitely darker compared to where I first attempted M42 (which was in the central part of severe light polluted Singapore).
But the imaging session was short lived as the lens fogged up after 40 plus shots. What a waste! Guess I have to bring some heat packs along if I am going to this location next time.
Though the image is noisy, I am quite satisfied with the end results of the stacked image. The running man nebula is visible in the photo as well. Waiting for the next clear night to collect more subs to add on to this group of subs.

離我們約十六萬光年，大麥哲倫星系是一個環繞銀河系運轉的衛星星系。結構似乎有一點棒旋星系的痕跡，有推測是因為受到銀河系的重力擾動，而成為現在的不規則形態。

The many spectacular colors of the Rho Ophiuchi (oh'-fee-yu-kee) clouds highlight the many processes that occur there. The blue regions shine primarily by reflected light. Blue light from the Rho Ophiuchi star system and nearby stars reflects more efficiently off this portion of the nebula than red light. The Earth's daytime sky appears blue for the same reason. The red and yellow regions shine primarily because of emissions from the nebula's atomic and molecular gas. Light from nearby blue stars - more energetic than the bright star Antares - knocks electrons away from the gas, which then shines when the electrons recombine with the gas. The dark brown regions are caused by dust grains - born in young stellar atmospheres - which effectively block light emitted behind them. The Rho Ophiuchi star clouds, well in front of the globular cluster M4, are even more colorful than humans can see - the clouds emit light in every wavelength band from the radio to the gamma-ray.

Have been patiently waiting for this nebula to rise above my horizon. Still low in the murk and time-restricted with daylight approach so not much data to work with here, just a handful of subs taken through a h-alpha filter. Regardless it is still an impressive sight. IC405 the flaming star nebula in Auriga. ED80/350D EQ6 . 12nm Ha
only 4 subs from the dslr + h-alpha filter, stacked in DSS and the red channel separated into a grayscale image, have seen more detail in these four subs than 60+ subs in normal OSC so i'm pretty convinced by the ha-rgb approach even with a non-monochrome dslr its still - to me, - worth doing :)
I've updated this image after doing more post-processing.
Getting only one night per month due to weather and moon phase doesn't provide much opportunity these days but this was my best target this morning. All things considered, it turned out okay.

北美及塘鵝 North America and the Pelican 2-Panel Mosaic
北美星雲及塘鵝星雲位於天鵝座天津四旁的不遠處，這兩個發射星雲相對較亮及較大，也很容易尋找，對初學者來說是很好的練習目標。
這次拍攝就嘗試用上兩幅相片拼接，即是我們所說的 Mosaic 方法，能夠擴展一下視場和壓縮細節，雖然處理工序也會較為繁複，但細緻度會比起單張來得要好，是提升深空天體相片解像力的不二門法之一。

Is kinda funny watch you guys taking 30 second frames on M42, while I need at least 2 minutes!

Messier 42 The Great Nebula in Orion.
Third try at this DSO in the middle of light-polluted Singapore. Clear weather. No lens fogging problems unlike the first two attempts. Only problem was satellite signals keep disconnecting at this location. Only few subs were collected as a result. Despite so, the resultant stacked photo definitely looks better than previous tries. Running Man Nebula is vaguely visible on the right.

These star trails fall over Mont-Mégantic visible right at the bottom of the photo. We were lucky enough to have a cottage where we could capture and contemplate this landscape right from our balcony. The star trail was created from 210 individual photos combined to give the effect of movement. Let say that it is tough not to get tired of contemplating starry skies!

天鵝座北美及塘鵝星雲
天鵝座一帶星塵雲氣豐富，長焦廣角也有很多題材，是夏秋很受歡迎的目標。圖中靠下方帶藍色的光星是天鵝座最亮的天津四；中央是塘鵝星雲 IC5070； 靠上面是北美星雲 NGC7000。這一帶有著很微妙的紅色色調，這次給她調了個嬌豔一點的妝容，希望大家喜歡。

The Neighbourhood of Omega Centauri
Omega Centauri or NGC 5139, the largest globular cluster of our milky galaxy nearly 15000 LY away and containing more than 10 million stars. (Seen at the centre of the picture)
Accompanying it are few other deep sky objects as listed:

This is a single exposure cropped shot from Canon 700D/50mm F1.8 tracked on AstroTrac.

The Messier 8 (aka Lac III-13, NGC 6523, BCA 237 or Sh 2-25), is definitely the protagonist of this rich nebular and stellar field in the Sagittarius constellation, near the centre of our galaxy.
With approximate apparent dimensions of 45’x30’ and a distance of about 4-5 thousand light-years, this very bright emission nebula has a real extension of nearly 100 light-years, factors that make it visible to the naked eye even in suburban areas, and a good target for binoculars or small telescopes, although it takes a somewhat big telescope (10-inch would be very fine) in a dark sky site to fully reveal its splendour to a visual observer – as I had the unforgettable opportunity to witness via a 11-inch SCT from a Bortle 2 sky site.
But the Lagoon Nebula, as it is popularly known, is surrounded by several other nebulae and HII regions, such as Sh 2-29, Sh 2-31, and Sh 2-32, to the bottom left, and M8 itself also encompasses a bright open star cluster, NGC 6530 as well as the famous Hourglass Nebula, at its luminous core, and some dark nebulae showing themselves as beautiful dark filaments cutting through their way along the field, partially blocking our view of the shimmering nebula behind.
This colour combination is the renowned Hubble Palette or SHO (Sulphur-Hydrogen-Oxygen), by which the narrowband SII captured data is assigned to the Red channel, the H-alpha data to Green, and the OIII to Blue. I also used the H-alpha as Luminance channel for this image.
Curiously, this SHO palette, at least in my opinion, makes the “Lagoon Nebula” an even more appropriate name for this object, perhaps because of the blue huge central region surrounded by the golden/brown border.

A Messier 8 (M8, também conhecida como Lac III-13, NGC 6523, BCA 237 ou Sh 2-25) é definitivamente a nebulosa a protagonizar esse rico campo estelar na constelação do Sagitário, próxima ao centro da nossa galáxia. Com as dimensões aparentes aproximadas de 45’x30’ e uma distância de 4 a 5 milhares de anos-luz da Terra, essa brilhante nebulosa de emissão tem uma extensão real de quase 100 anos-luz, fatores que a tornam visível a olho nu desde até mesmo áreas suburbanas de grandes cidades, e um bom alvo de observação para binóculos e pequenos telescópios, embora seja desejável um telescópio um tanto maior (10 polegadas seria bem razoável) e num céu escuro, para revelar totalmente seu esplendor a um observador visual – como eu mesmo tive a inesquecível oportunidade de testemunhar via um telescópio SCT de 11 polegadas em um local de céu Bortle 2.
Mas a Nebulosa da Lagoa, como é popularmente conhecida, é cercada de várias outras nebulosas e regiões HII, como as Sh 2-29, Sh 2-31 e Sh 2-32, vistas em grupo no região inferior esquerda da imagem. E a própria M8 também hospeda um brilhante aglomerado aberto de estrelas, o NGC 6530, bem como a Nebulosa da Ampulheta, que lhe serve de radiante núcleo, além de algumas nebulosas escuras que se apresentam como belos filamentos negros cortando seu caminho ao longo do campo de visão, parcialmente bloqueando nossa visão da fulgurante nebulosa logo atrás.
Essa combinação de cores é a conhecida Hubble Palette (ou Aquarela do Hubble – ficando assim famosa por ser empregada pelos processadores de imagens do famoso telescópio espacial), ou SHO (Enxofre-Hidrogênio-Oxigênio, na sigla em latim e inglês). Nessa combinação, os dados capturados em banda estreita de SII são atribuídos ao canal Vermelho do conjunto RGB (Vermelho-Verde-Azul), enquanto as capturas na faixa do Hidrogênio-alfa vão para o canal Verde, e as em Oxigênio-III vão para o Azul. Para essa imagem, eu também usei o H-alfa como canal de Luminância.
Curiosamente, esta aquarela SHO – ao menos na minha opinião – torna o nome “Nebulosa da Lagoa” ainda mais apropriado para este objeto, talvez pelo fato de tornar a imensa região central azul, e cercada pelas margens em tons marrons/dourados.

天鵝座廣角
這一次用 50mm 來拍拍廣角一點的天鵝座一帶。照片近中央有北美和塘鵝星雲；藍白色的光星是夏季大三角之一，也是天鵝座最亮的天津四，左上角也隱約看得到東西面紗星雲。這一帶的星星又密又多，對於 50mm 鏡頭好像有點太擠迫了…大家有興趣也可看看早前張貼過的 135mm 照片比較一下。

天上的一顆心
心臟星雲 (Heart Nebula, IC1805)，是銀河系英仙臂的星雲，星雲深處其實有很多值得拍攝的細節，可惜拍攝時間有限，未能將更多細節重現。心臟星雲在東北方向上升，最高只會升至 60 度左右，在香港的重光害環境下可能會較難拍攝，需借助光害濾鏡的幫忙才能事半功倍。

Messier 26 open star cluster, at right, a bright binocular/telescopic star cluster, along with the fainter and small globular star cluster NGC 6712 at upper left, which itself is paired with the faint planetary nebula IC 1295, the greenish spot left of NGC 6712. All are in the constellation of Scutum, embedded in the rich Scutum Starcloud. The bright red star at top is S Scuti.
This is a stack of 8 x 6 minute exposures at f/4.4 with the Canon 6D at ISO 800 and TMB 92mm Apo refractor with the Borg 0.85x flattener/reducer. Taken from the winter home near Silver City, New Mexico.
Seagull Nebula (IC 2177)
A broad expanse of glowing gas and dust presents a bird-like visage to astronomers from planet Earth, suggesting its popular moniker - The Seagull Nebula. This portrait of the cosmic bird covers a 1.6 degree wide swath across the plane of the Milky Way, near the direction of Sirius, alpha star of the constellation Canis Major. Of course, the region includes objects with other catalog designations: notably NGC 2327, a compact, dusty emission region with an embedded massive star that forms the bird's head (aka the Parrot Nebula). Dominated by the reddish glow of atomic hydrogen, the complex of gas and dust clouds with bright young stars spans over 100 light-years at an estimated 3,800 light-year distance.

Hey! This is my first time capturing The Andromeda Galaxy (M31), I’m pleased with the results even that the Galaxy is too big to my telescope. Equipment: Celestron 6SLT , Canon 60D, Celestron Focal reducer 6.3. Software processing: Sequator and Lightroom. Imaging information: light frames 30@30” flat frames 30/30” dark frames 30@30” bais frames 30@30”
The Leo Triplet is a group of galaxies a mere 35 million light-years away in the constellation Leo (not surprisingly). It consists of galaxies M65, M66, and NGC 3628.
Had a lot of trouble with this. My recently overhauled mount, which I was so proud of, decided to go back to how it was before, or worse, so I had to bin 32 of the 60 subs I took. Also had terrible amp glow so this is quite severely cropped to get rid of it. For some reason the darks didn't do their job. Anyway, not a bad result considering the short exposure.
