Del Norte Coast Redwoods, California

A heavy coastal fog has rolled into the redwood forest this morning.

And now I promise you that this is the last one of the series. Thank you all for being so patient with me!

This Royal Doulton Flambe rabbit was bought by my parents. It stood on the dressing table in my bedroom for as long as I can remember. It is a miracle he survived my childhood. At almost 3" in height the little rabbit is one of my treasures.

Soybeans are about ready for harvest, in some way everyone is affected by the harvest of soybeans each year.

Deep snow marked the edge of the road to Crater Lake, Oregon. This was May 30th. I wonder how much snow there is in the winter!

Not the sharpest photo but I really like the light, shadow and reflection.

Coconut Creek Florida

I normally only hear them doing their thing way up in the old trees around here, but yesterday -- while sitting in a yogic breathwork sequence :) -- I saw this foraging woodpecker hopping all over the Linden tree in front of my balcony.

I managed a few shots through the window pane and wind-blown foliage -- and off he was. It's not a high-quality photo, but I just love these birdies and want to share my joy with you. <3

I was feeling more than a little tired and dirty after finishing a long backpacking trip in the Wind River Mountains last month. I headed over to the Pinedale Aquatic Center and plopped down $7 for the longest, most luxuriously hot & steamy shower I have ever enjoyed. I stood in that spot until my skin was as wrinkled as a savanna elephant. The simple pleasures in life are never sweeter than after a long absence. I felt alive and renewed. The day was still young, and I recalled a brief encounter with some fellow backpackers who told me about a place called Deep Lake. I Googled a trail description--7 miles and 1400 feet up. I wasn't alive and renewed enough for another backpacking trip, but a quick walk up there for sunset didn't sound unreasonable. 8 1/2 miles and 1800 feet later I arrived at the lake. I was annoyed at the distance discrepancy, and the cloudless sky and wind-ruined reflection sure didn't help my mood. I almost spun around on my heels and immediately descended. But sunset was still about an hour away. I decided to linger awhile.

Little Chipper in Valley Forge Today

Photo taken Feb 24, 2019

Richard Reuben and I took a walk down to the pond, of course I took my camera. When we got the the kids just started wadding out into the water. I think they liked seeing the mud and leaves come up from underneath. I have a photo of booth of them playing in the pond, I will post it after a while.
