This is the first orchid I saw when I walked in to the Garfield Park Conservatory for the recent orchid show, and based on this introduction, I knew I was in for an amazing show. This little beauty was such deep purple that it was almost black, but then the light caught it from behind and lit it up cabernet crimson. Stunning!

Deep Focus: [two images] use deep focus (small aperture) to MEANINGFULLY apply this technique to a subject well suited for it. Use Aperture priority mode on the camera to set the highest f-stop # (smallest aperture).
