Found this at Barnes Common nature reserve while jogging after a #Gym. Well I visited this place purposefully looking for an opportunity to catch any backlit subjects...and found this while chasing flying insects for my camera....

Researchers lower a Deep SOLO prototype float from the deck of R/V Tangaroa during a June 16-25 cruise off New Zealand's eastern coast. Part of a new generation of profiling instruments that can travel to greater ocean depths measuring temperature and salinity, two Deep SOLOs have each done two profiles to 5,000 meters (16,400 feet), and will eventually sample to the ocean bottom - about 5,550 meters (18,200 feet).
