This very little insects helps a lot in spreading flowers everywhere.
This my look as one of what is called "little good deeds." Are these "little good deeds" are really little?
What the insect does here is spreading pollen everywhere. Is this little? Sure it is not.
So do not belittle good deeds.
Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) said:
“Do not think little of any good deed, even if it is just greeting your brother with a cheerful countenance.”
You can find this saying of the Prophet here in addition to others:
I shared two stories in my latest 'podcast' episode. This, the second one, is bizarre not so much in what happened, but in how it was covered by the press.
You can listen to the full version of the stories anywhere you find podcasts. Just search for Conspiracy of Cartographers.
Susan Cargill's death in 1883 might not have been important enough for local paper, the St. Paul, Nebraska Phonograph, but she her loss certainly had an affect on her family.
Susan and Robert had ten children together, all of whom were still alive when she passed on at the young age of 43.
In 1902, her daughter Margaret died by suicide. The April 9, 1902 issue of the newspaper told all. She had "committed suicide yesterday afternoon by shooting herself through the head with a 22-calibre rife. The deed was done during the absence of her family and was evidently the result of deliberately laid plans."
Margaret had two young children, and sent them "to a neighbor's with instructions not to return for an hour and a half." It's unsaid, but presumed that it was her children who found her body.
The paper printed the note she left her husband, explained where she aimed the gun, and what she was wearing. "No motive for the rash deed is known," concluded the paper, she "had always enjoyed fairly good health."
Margaret's brother, Lewis, took the news the hardest. At 33, he was unmarried and living alone. According to the headline in the May 18th issue of the same newspaper: Louis Cargill Insane.
"It seems that nothing could be done to remove the effect of the sad termination of his sister's life," read the article. He was taken to an insane asylum in Lincoln.
He died on May 26, 1902. A June issue related the news, telling that "his health had failed rapidly as a result of his mental affliction and death came quickly to his relief."

Yueh Hai Ching Temple is a Chinese temple in Singapore.
The current structure of this shrine dates back to 1850.
Temple is an expression of a Taoist temple of Chinese architecture.
The roofs of the temple have the most unusual ornaments of one- and two-storey mini-structures and human figurines. They are laid in such a way as to depict clusters of buildings within a Chinese town. In this temple human figurines are displayed everywhere, depicting scenes from Chinese operas that illustrate the courageous and meritorious deeds of the gods and ancient heroes of Chinese legend.
Settle in, this is going to be a long one! And you don't have to read it... but I find that sometimes getting the thoughts out of my head is helpful!
I thought this week was going pretty well. I was starting to think that in this messed up world there is still some hope. On the 4th of July, as I have done for several years in the past before Covid, I will be running (jogging, walking, struggling through) a 5K around the Statue of Liberty. I do this for two reasons; because the 4th of July is my favorite holiday and I love being surrounded by people dressed in crazy red, white and blue bedazzled attire in a special place, and more importantly, because the run benefits Special Olympics NJ and gives me a chance to participate in something good. On my fundraising page, I offer my friends, family and co-workers the chance "to be heroes" (that sounds much nicer than begging them for their monetary support of my favorite charity!) and as they have done so many times before, they stepped up and together we will be donating enough money to Special Olympics to send more than 50 Special Olympic athletes to the Fall Games. Some of these people are parents that my kids (now in their 30s) played soccer with back in middle school and I hope it makes them feel as good as it makes me feel to do some good in this world where all the news seems so bad. I could go on and on about this topic, thankfully, I won't!
Next, one of my friends at work had her beloved cat that she had for over 20 years pass away and she opened her home and heart to new kitten from a shelter, only to find out shortly afterward that the poor little thing has a heart defect that will cause it to slowly die of heart failure within 1-2 years, unless she can get it medical help which will cost $8000. Not having that kind of money, she was brave enough to put up a "go fund me" page to help raise the funds to save her kitty. I say "brave enough" because there has been plenty of talk about this being ridiculous... it's just a cat... just get another cat ...who spends that kind of money on a cat, etc... and I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinions and that is fine. Me, I took one look at that kitten's face and hit the DONATE button. And... I was not alone. Within 5 days, she has raised half of the money that she needs... not just from friends and family.... but from complete strangers... and I am thinking... well, look at that... maybe people ARE good afterall. That's the beauty of it, yes... it is a lot of money, but if a LOT of people come together to help, anything is possible... isn't that the way it is supposed to be? People helping others? Hmmmm...Faith in people slowly being restored. YeY!
Two weeks ago I went to the abandoned farm that I love and fixed a barn door that was hanging off the rolling hinges on top, figuring that if I didn't, it would end up breaking off, and I didn't want that to happen, because it's such a good spot for photos and because the old barn has stood for so many years that sometimes it just deserves a little help. So, I dragged a step ladder out there and struggled to get it back on the track. Tonight I went back there again to take another version of a photo that I took a couple of years ago, only to find that someone has now started ripping the barn wood off of the side of the barn. I couldn't even believe it. So, I walked around the back of the barn to see if there was any other damage and that's where I found that they had also dumped a mattress and boxspring. I realize that I do not own this property and technically I am trespassing there as well, but I would never break anything, ruin anything, dump anything.... etc. Last week, I found that someone had spray painted in red "Time to float" on the front of the beautiful old stone farmhouse. I tried to sand that off, and tried to get it off with a wire brush, with no success and will probably have to carefully paint over it if I want to make it go away. So, I am right back to square one, thinking that this world is pretty broken and that the good that is left is not going to be enough to overcome the bad people that are thinking only of themselves or pointing fingers and blaming others and telling them that they are wrong and stupid.... because that's all we hear about.... no one hears about the people that care whether a special needs individual is going to get to experience the thrill of being a part of a team or the people that think that a kitten that is loved deserves to live a healthy life for more than a year or two.... so that's why I am telling you... so you know... that these people are out there... quietly doing good without looking for attention and headlines... and thank God for that! ( I feel a little bit better now. Thanks! )

Ce sont les mots qui existent, ce qui n'a pas de nom n'existe pas. Le mot lumière existe, la lumière n'existe pas.

Well 2023 is nearly over and it hasn’t been great for me personally. What with a trapped nerve issue in January with pain dominating the first 3 months of the year. Then the health of my ageing doggies took over my thoughts and concerns, losing Oscar in June and nearly losing Toby in July. So I’m hoping for a better things in 24, less pain and sadness would be a nice start. One thing that has kept me going this year is the kindness show to me from you, my friend on Instagram and Flickr. When I was at my lowest and pouring my feelings out in my posts the replies were fantastic. Not only were you lot keeping me entertained by taking fantastic photos and stories your kind responses were second to none. So my deepest thank you goes to you all, and I wish you a happy new and hope your camera’s capturer the great magic and beauty. If we all wish harder enough we will see the back of the Tories and we can hope to see polices and deeds that start the healing, but we have a long way to go. Todays photo was snapped at the start of this month with my little pocket Sony, I’m amazed I grabbed it.

Introduction
Almighty God says, "I stand over the universe day after day, observing, and I humbly hide Myself in My dwelling place to experience human life, closely studying man’s every deed. No one has ever truly offered up himself to Me. No one has ever pursued the truth. No one has ever been conscientious for Me. No one has ever made resolutions before Me and kept to his duty. No one has ever allowed Me to dwell in him. No one has valued Me as he would his own life. No one has ever seen in practical reality the whole being of My divinity. No one has ever been willing to be in contact with the practical God Himself."

4 am. Finally finished editing, much to my shock at this rather foolish sleep deprivation. Anyway, this is probably my least favorite scene from "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom." Indiana Jones, Willie Scott, and Short Round witness a truly "heart-wrenching" scene.
More vignettes to come!
As always, a big thanks to the HP builders for inspiration.

"How far that little candle throws his beams! So shines a good deed in a weary world" ~William Shakespeare
We live in deeds, not years; in thoughts, not breaths; in feelings, not in figures on a dial. We should count time by heart throbs. He most lives who thinks most, feels the noblest, acts the best. - Aristotle
When I arrived at the beach about an hour before sunrise to take in the pretty blue hour along the Maryland shore ... when I went to set my tripod up near these rocks I noticed a smaller rock moving there in the dark ... it was a horseshoe crab that was on its back, with its legs all moving about.
So before the sun even was up for the day and did my good deed for the day and turned the large crab over.
It went in a circle at first ... and I as I set up my tripod for a capture ... it made a turn and ended up running into one of the legs. Had to re-shoot that capture as it bumped the tripod during the longer exposure.
It then went between the legs and started its trek back to the sea. It did that during my next capture here and you can see the path it took there in the sand.
For his deeds, the Order of the Dragon was bestowed upon him, hence the title Dracul.
Benefiting from the friendship of the Hungarian king, Sigismund I of Luxembourg, Vlad II Dracul, the father of Vlad Tepes, spent his youth at the royal court and later distinguished himself as a brave knight in the fight against the Ottoman Empire.
Dracula, the title of Vlad Tepes, translates as Son of Dracul.

The Black Deeds of the Kremlin, vol. 1 is a 1953 book of testimonies published in Toronto by the Ukrainian Association of Victims of Russian Communist Terror, with an introduction by Prof. George W. Simpson of the University of Saskatchewan. I found this book in my late parents' house but have yet to read more than a few pages. The stories are too overwhelming.
Crime and Punishment is a masterpiece of Russian literature by Feodor Dostoevsky.
