Dedham Mill, glorious mill and lock famous for the Constable paintings.

Thought I'd revisit some summer images, fed up with dull grey days now.

Constable country, big sky, big landscape and the ever present artists trying to capture the scenery.

One of the highlights of a fantastic frosty morning.

I think this cow was pleased to see me, never had a cow smile at me before

Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Essex and Suffolk, also where English painter John Constable used to paint.

Taken in Constable country in Dedham on the River Stour last week. I knew the possibility of a decent sunrise would be good but boy did it exceed my expectations! Finding my spot was pretty easy as i already knew the area well and i set up and honed the composition and waited for nature to do its thing. Standing there alone i was pretty overwhelmed by just how idyllic the whole scene was, bird's morning song filled the air, fish breaking the surface of the mirror like river water, cows grazing and mooing off in the field yonder, acorns falling periodically around me. Mornings like this are very special to me and keep my motivation going to help me get up at 2:30am time and time again. The sunrise just got better and better and the colours were off the scale, the perfect scattered cloud catching the beautiful vivid hues and refracting them into a glorious show of light and colour. By far my most enjoyable sunrise this year.

All seen on a recent short trip to Essex in a bitterly cold wind & not too much sunshine.

Bridge over river stour near dedham. Lovely area for walks good country side. Plenty of punting and canoeing.

I went to Dedham, in Essex yesterday...John Constable country, he who painted "The Haywain" a few meters away from where I photographed this friendly Cow.:)

So once again I was in my default position of laying on the floor whilst the Cows investigated why some silly human was laying on the ground lol...My camera bag got a really good licking too..:)

Reconsider the selfie - Patrick Willocq

Had the Mrs act as a human tripod and used the shutter delay.

For many years dating back to the nineteen hundreds, Dedham has been known as the place to hire a Rowing Boat. That tradition is continued today by the Boathouse Restaurant, which has 26 Clinker built Rowing Boats for hire for a leisurely row along the river Stour. Flatford Mill, the Mill made famous by John Constable is just a mile and a half row along the river from Dedham! Not being water creatures we walked and just watched everyone else rowing!

Slugging up the grade at Dedham, Wisconsin, is a pair of Warbonnet (pinkbonnet?) B40's heading towards the Twin Cities.
