What used to be my habit—starting the day by relaxing, taking stock of life, sipping coffee, and listening to the birds—came to an abrupt end. The tree is gone, along with my little piece of paradise.
The tree stump now represents what was once a full, living tree, cut down and broken into fragments, creating a sense of deconstruction. The natural lines and patterns of the cut stump emphasize the destruction of something whole. The stump shows a clear division between life and its deconstructed remains.
The iconic Bayonne Bridge, a steel arch span dating from 1931, is being reworked to accommodate New Panamax cargo ships (a larger standard made possible by the expansion of the Panama Canal's locks as of 2016). A new roadbed has been constructed, passing through the arch closer to the top, and the old one is being disassembled. Here a segment of steel girder is being hoisted away.

Here are a couple of paintings by David Speed that are on the roof of a building opposite shoreditch boxpark. Sadly its not possible to get a closer view as the building is being knocked down and the security wont let you up on the roof, if i had my camera with a longer lens attached i could zoom in a bit better , but you get the picture..
