Sometime last winter, I got fed up with my apartment oven’s absolute inability to properly bake anything, ever, and splurged on a fancy “toaster oven” that I could use for baking and roasting small items. It was gigantic, and complicated, and absolutely fantastic at cooking food perfectly despite the fact that it was way too big for my kitchen. Then 3 months ago, maintenance very kindly replaced the stove in my apartment with one that works properly, so I didn’t need the ginormous toaster oven anymore. So my fancy toaster oven sat, unused and in the way, in my guest room.
Today I finally took it out and “Donated” it to my friend who was using an ancient (20 years old, I think?) toaster oven. The ginormous toaster oven is way too big for her kitchen, too, but at least it will get some use and quit taking up space in my apartment!

I choose to photograph this one because of the lady's unusual hairstyle and the name of the photography studio - Chic Photo Co.
About 25 years ago, the photographs were left to my parents in a Will by their next door neighbour of 30 years. At the time I said I'd look after them. Decluttering the attic I found the box with them all in. Many of them were taken in Norwich photography studios. I'm trying to date them as there's not much information on them. I guess they must be late 19C. They are not being added to the declutter pile. I'll carry on looking after them.
Today, we're going over the top five things you can do to your house that will make a massive impact. The best thing you can do for the new year is to get organized, so get ready to grab your pencils. Tip number one is to edit and declutter. There are five easy tips to follow quick and dirty.
Dead Plants: Get rid of your dead plants. If they're even half-dead, just take them all outside, put them into the ground somewhere or put them someplace where they can compost. Goes back to dirt again, all is good—no longer clutter in your apartment or your home.
The second thing in decluttering is laundry, and if your software looks like this (see attached), I've got an easy way to solve that. You're going to get two or more big laundry bins, one of them will be for clean clothes, the other one will be for all the other dirties that go in, and the laundry doesn't go anywhere else. It's super easy.
The third thing to easily declutter is to get rid of all the junk at the entry door. Oh my god, entry doors, they end up being obstacle courses with everything from like shoes and satchels and umbrellas and coats, keys, you name it and it. All ends up on the floor or the table there.
The next way to get organized is to work with what is your home office space. Many of us have been working from home, and, or many of us are even in job transition, you want to make sure that if you're still doing your zoom calls from your bed, we help you up to your game and get this organized.

Day 14 of my 30 Day "D" Challenge is time to Deal with another pile of stuff in the library/guest room. This time it's the corner shelf of spare blankets, sheets, winter gear, and misc stuff that's been piled on it. A few minutes and a couple of bins later, the random bits have been put where they belong elsewhere, and the spare blankets and sheets look much neater.
Oh, the "orange" notebook appears to be quite "red" in person. But the grey tones will hopefully make up for it. Office clutter/declutter moving effort still in progress.

A second consideration in selecting a storage unit is the type of storage unit to select. Traditional storage units typically come in two styles; temperature controlled storage units which are inside of a building and garage style storage units.

This year I'm having a serious declutter and trying to sell all of my unwanted stuff on eBay to help fund travelling. Once you start focusing on getting rid of material junk, you start to apply that logic to other areas of life and it helps you to realise what's really important to you in life, what you really need. Although this is a photo of material, physical things, together they represent passion, interest, nature, companionship, care, love and family. Those are the kinds of things that you should allow your life to be cluttered with.
It's day 16 of my 30 Day challenge, and I was supposed to be getting new headphones today. Knowing that there were old headphones lurking in hidden spots, today's challenge was the pile of misc "iDevice" stuff scattered around. I dug it all out and Dealt with the random bits of dock adapters, old cases, boxes, cables, headphones, iPods, etc, and sorted it down to one small bag of necessary cases, cables, and adapters. Then donated the spare cases, and listed the 80GB iPod on Craigslist for good measure.
It's the 3rd day of my 30 Day "D" Challenge, and today's challenge was the cargo "organizer" in my car, which was really just a giant blck hole taking up precious space. It's been sorted, stacked, and re-organized to the point I could even fit my travel blanket in there. And it hit all 3 "D" points: dumped or donated various contents in the process of dealing!

If you're like most people, your kitchen is the heart of your home. It's where you prepare meals, gather with family and friends, and maybe even do a little work from time to time. But if your kitchen is cluttered and chaotic, it can be tough to enjoy all it has to offer. Luckily, a little bit of organization can go a long way. By taking some time to reorganize your kitchen, you can create a space that's both functional and inviting.
Start by assessing your needs. Take inventory of the items you use daily, and consider how you might better organize them. Then, take some time to declutter. Get rid of any appliances or dishes you no longer use, and toss any food past its expiration date. Once you've decluttered your kitchen, it's time to start putting things back in order.
Organize your pantry shelves, so items are easy to find, and consider investing in some new storage containers for your dry goods. If possible, create dedicated areas for prep work, cooking, and cleanup. And don't forget about the small details: labels on spice jars, hooks for pots and pans, and a catch-all bin for loose items. You can turn even the most chaotic kitchen into a well-oiled machine with little effort.

almost everything that had been on the floor in here has either been thrown away (yay!) or is in the hallway, bedroom, or living room as our only real staging areas--this means that when we're done for the day, stuff gets shifted back in here. i only say that to say that even when your space is limited, you can still de-clutter! HEY! and the step-latter on the left is a reminder to be ERGONOMIC! i injured myself when i first started housecleaning, for not realizing the limits of my body. don't reach too far, and always lift from the knees, stop bending over at the hips, for goodness sake!
Removed three wire lines from top of photo to declutter it.
