Even in SL - problems can come to visit. But unlike Real Life..... "Mute and de-render" can make many of those problems go away :-)
Yesterday evening on the ... still frozen but melting fast ... Keefer Lake
A lady with many suitors .... we watched the passionate antics for quite a while as the light faded but she still hadn't chosen the lucky duck. There was a 4th drake/male about 20 feet back but I don't think he was in the running ... or perhaps he was especially clever and playing hard to get just like the hen?
Rosa suggested that she might just as well keep them all - something about 'variety is the spice of life.' :)
A Cardinal looks over the seeds put out for that day, but it seems he can't quite decide on which one to take.

A male broad-tail hummingbird hovers in front of currant blossoms, trying to decide which one has the most sweet nectar.
Yes, Norway again :-)
Which photo to upload among hundreds of new ones is always a hard decision, but it's a good problem to have, and I haven't even had a chance to look at half of them. The light was not ideal here, and I waited a long long time for the sun to peek through the clouds, it didn't happen. The sharp peak is Stetind, "Norway's national mountain", whatever that means.
I had a mixed bag of weather in the past few months, but it was surprisingly good in Norway.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. I just love his expression, to me it looks like he is weighing up some options. Enjoy!
Contemplating the artwork of the rather wonderful Robert Indiana at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park earlier in the year. Seems very prescient …
Well, Hello There. You look like a bad decision.

A decision tree is a visual representation of all possible options and consequences that can result as a result of an action. The branches are directed and ordered. Each of the interventions follows branches that represent the possible events with the associated probabilities of occurrence. At the end of the decision tree, each path leads to an outcome. This shows an easily understandable representation of the decision-making and allows the actor to evaluate the result and recognize key attributes.
However, decision options or possible consequences in relation to environmental factors, risks, probability of occurrence, etc. must be known.
Transferred to our bird in the photo it could sound as follows:
A little bird sits, a sight unseen upon a branch high and free,
Beside a grand, old decision tree.
The tree stands tall, its branches wide,
With choices branching side by side.
The bird chirps a song so bright,
Guiding through the paths of light.
"Shall I soar to skies unknown,
Or nestle where the seeds are sown?"
The tree replies with wisdom deep,
"In your heart, the answers keep."
Each branch a choice, each leaf a fate,
The bird decides, it won't wait.
With wings outstretched, it takes to flight,
Into the dawn, chasing the light.

Aphid Parasitoid Wasp (Trioxys complanatus) female
She was watching the Aphids on the leaf, no doubt choosing one to lay her eggs in.
43184 is turned out to head the 1S51 1227 PLM-EDN for her first revenue earning work in her new Inter City Executive livery. Unfortunately she was running 40 late by the time she reached the outskirts of Teignmouth. Nevertheless we can live with that as she looks so smart and gives us all something interesting to photograph on the Cross Country services. 43303 on the back.
There was for one fleeting moment, that I genuinely thought this lunatic in the speedboat was on some kind of suicide mission, it was of course an optical illusion, but at the speed and intial direction the boat was moving, I thought my photo would end up as forensic evidence! I also thought that this must be the bane of every large ship Captain's job. In the end the little speedboat zipped along on the inside, (Port Side) of the incredibly impressive Botnia Enabler, Europe's largest most advanced RO-RO Vessel.
I hope everyone is well and as always, thank you! :)
We turned left but now I'm wondering what we missed, will have to check it out on Google street view :)

God will give you strength for every batter, wisdom for every decision, and peace that surpasses understanding.
It's amazing how a seemingly small decision can change your life.
This is an image I took before falling last Sunday and breaking my shoulder.
At this point I decided that shooting into the sun wasn't ideal as it was pretty bright so headed down the falls.
In hindsight I should of decided to wait until the sun got lower.
Got a bit of a long slog to get back to full fitness but happy with this shot as this is an amazing place and I am privileged to able to witness scenes like this even if the camera struggles with the light range.
I now realise that I didn't fall and break my shoulder but fell with camera and tripod in hand and dislocated it which caused the break whilst falling or trying to stop it going into water.
Impressed that the camera seems to have dried out and working as Canon aren't great for sealing.
Now that December is coming to an end, the time for those infamous New Year's resolutions is about to begin. Well, resolutions are one thing, decisions are something completely different. A resolution is a loose declaration of intent, while a decision already includes the first step.
Everything in life begins with a decision. And this doesn't just apply to a walk in the winter snow-covered Kars forest (as in the picture here) but to the entire life of each and every one of us, often on every single day.
In the obvious cases it's just a matter of which hiking trail you follow, the wide main route or the slightly narrower path off to the side. These two paths symbolize the countless streets, paths and trails that our lives take us along.
But this decision thing goes so much further and so much deeper. For example, there are the decisions about how you want to feel, who or what you let yourself be upset by, what you are angry about, who you open up to or who you trust.
And it goes even deeper, with the decisions about how I want to treat myself, what I expect of myself and what I allow myself.
And even though all of these countless decisions in our lives, of which I have only given a few examples here, differ fundamentally from one another (e.g. in terms of their meaning and impact), they all have one thing in common. Each of them triggers a consequence. Both for the person making the decision and for those around them. This also includes the decision not to want to make a decision. Because every time we don't decide for ourselves, others do it for us. However, this does not release us from having to bear the consequences ourselves.
