Jimi Hendrix didn't decide on the career of professional musician when he learned to play guitar. No, he loved playing music and created something beautiful and that then became a profession. Larry Towell, for instance, was not a 'professional' photographer until he was already a 'famous' photographer. Make the pictures you feel compelled to make and perhaps that will lead to a career. But if you try to make the career first, you will just make shitty pictures that you don't care about :-).

I remember deciding to try this on on the spur of the moment one night, as it had hung in my wardrobe for months with the tags still on. I didn't really think much of it at the time...
After deciding whether to take a photo for the theme, I finally used three crystal balls inside a pale blue foam egg packaging and lined them up in a row. I used my two table lamps for light.

"Shine On You Crazy Diamond", was written as a tribute to Syd Barrett, one of the founders of Pink Floyd. He was also known as "The Crazy Diamond Syd". Barrett was a very creative musician and is considered one of the rock icons, with a strong influence on many artists, very especially to David Bowie. Syd Barrett is a key piece to understand the evolution of rock in the 70s.. Excessive drug use, especially LSD, caused him serious mental health problems. Syd Barrett died in 2006 at the age of 60. The Universal is a science fiction song written as a tribute to two films by film director Stanley Kubrick. In the video, the Blur members wear outfits similar to Alex and his gang of thugs, the protagonists of the movie "A Clockwork Orange." Celle ci a une saveur tout à fait particulière puisque c'est enfin mon tout premier Martin 2020 , après m'être cassé les dents à plusieurs reprises sur mes spots habituels ces derniers temps , j'ai donc décidé de changer de tactique en exploitant d'autres endroits , armé d'une paire de jumelles j'ai cherché les indices m'indiquant ses lieux de pêche , et je suis tombé finalement sur une grosse branche de saule qui surplombe la rivière et c'est depuis cette branche que j'ai pu observer mon gaillard en action de pêche , ni une ni deux j'ai mis en place mon fameux mode opératoire habituel en fichant sur la berge un perchoir non loin de la branche et finalement ce matin là il est venu à deux reprises prendre possession de son tout nouveau plongeoir .

This one has a very special flavor since it's finally my very first Martin 2020, after having broken my teeth several times on my usual spots lately, so I decided to change tactics by exploiting 'other places, armed with a pair of binoculars I looked for clues indicating its fishing grounds, and I finally came across a large willow branch overlooking the river and it is from this branch that I I was able to observe my fellow fishing, neither one nor two I set up my famous usual operating mode by tying a perch on the bank not far from the branch and finally that morning he came twice to take possession of its brand new diving board.

Running up and down the trail around the lake trying to decide where the best sunrise shot might occur. Tripping over my own tripod, just another day of photography in my life.
Located in the heart of Central Oregon just 25 miles west of Bend, Sparks Lake is a large, shallow lake. Situated near the northwest edge of Mount Bachelor, the lake boasts spectacular views of Broken Top and South Sister in addition to Mount Bachelor. Sparks Lake was formed by volcanic activity in the area over 10,000 years ago. Pristine alpine streams flow into this beautiful lake.
I see that Flickr decided to name this Elk Lake on the map. Nope, it's Sparks Lake!
After months of planning and deciding where to go to take the shot of steel wool burning I just went out - drove close to the cemetery a few kilometres away and took the shot. This was a result of the 3rd attempt. i know - it's far from perfect but just a start. I must say I immensly enjoyed taking the shot - it was fun to see those sparks flying around while moving the whisk around. I'll definitely do it more than just once - changing scenery - discovering new places to shoot it - definitely somewhere over the water.
I had a hard time post processing - mainly because of light pollution - the background was too light. Finally just used RawTherapee to tweak it - originally WB was not so good on automatic so had to work on it. I guess I could do it much better but hey it's my first time.

The sunset was what you can see here,a narrow band on the horizon.
Once the clouds came across the sun was not seen again.

When in Jackson Hole Wyoming, it's extremely difficult to decide your daybreak photography plans......whether to find/chase wildlife movement or sunrise landscapes scenes......
I passed by this colorful roadside spot on numerous occasions throughout the week, and kept saying.......Gotta stop there before we leave.
Waited until the last evening of the trip to actually do so.
Didn't know the little stream was there until we got closer......but it sure was a nice surprise...

I am still trying to decide if I should put up a tree...we will be going away from the 24th to 30th and it is a lot of work if no one is here to enjoy it... Caught this pretty Mallard drake with his girl in my pond. Usually they fly off before I even get to the pond but this time they stayed, even after Otto ran by.
Then Tank and Sugar arrived and started getting close to the pond's edge and that's when Mr. and Mrs. Mallard decided to exit the premises.
I got quite a few good flight shots. It was hard to decide what to post. But I decided on this one.
The ducks were backlit but fortunately there was enough light reflecting off the pond water to illuminate the drake to make his colors show a bit and to light his belly some.
This was sure easier than getting those little buggers, the Pine Siskins, in flight.

You have to decide, because of my Engineering background that to get this image, I drilled 4 holes in the Spoon to fit the Fork into... On the other hand was it all done in Photoshop..... You Decide.

Deciding to walk closer to Soda Lake yesterday to get a low photo with the hills in the background was an excellent decision. For a long time now I've wanted to witness American Avocets breeding. I've seen photos and video of what others have captured. I got to witness that yesterday. I was watching these two as they called and flew in pretty close to me. One kept it's head down for a long time (I thought it was just eating) so after checking my image real quickly and seeing that it wasn't eating but just hovering its bill above the water made me stop and think back to other images I'd seen. I quickly got low again and watched. It was over in an instant, but what an elegant behavior to observe. All I could say softly to myself was, "wow, wow, wow."
I love standing waiting for the storms and squalls to approach, watching everyone else leave the beach. I just get so absorbed in trying to capture all the drama that i forget about the imminent soaking. Deciding whether to run for cover or not is usually a last second spur of the moment thing.I usually just turn my back, cover the camera and wait , while the hail bounces off and all around me. Deciding to Run is by Richmond Fontaine, sometimes I'll run to a cliff or cave .
