debugging the onboard computer on the people mover. their diagnostic software was just spitting out line after line after line of hexidecimal numbers.

We upgraded our nrf51822 SOCs with the new Nordic BLE SoftDevice v7 and had to port all of our code to the new API version too. For some reason the SPI master API had changed completely (and the change was not mentioned in the migration guide). So we spent the whole weekend trying to get our gyro code working again. Our old code worked but was actually very wrong :) Clock polarity was inverted and phase was inverted so it all worked but was out of specs. So we ported a lot of our code to use the new API and we finally got the SPI code to work. A lot of time was wasted on a mixup with register names in our gyro headers. But we did get to use most of our testgear and it really looked kind of awesome to have that many debugging devices connected to one small board. Plus I got to teach all this debugging to a new member that was added to my team and who will hopefully take over some of the simpler tasks I've been doing.

Haven't tracked down the cause of this perimeter retraction issue while printing with the latest PLA. Documenting it here for the moment.

 

Strange how it seems to be Z-height dependent.

 

Update: Turns out this was caused by a sticky filament spool.

A shot of "Hana" in debug mode showing a bounding sphere for each flower, which I'll later (now) be using to cull them out of rendering (and certain updating) to save FPS.

It'll most likely make the FPS jump up and down a lot though, but perhaps by mostly doing tight shots of single flowers and I can keep most flowers culled out most of the time.

A Mac Mini with faster graphics would be nice, come on Steve..

JMX tools can be used to set the debug level for different Alfresco components. This screen shot shows the debug level for the FTP protocol is set to error. Administrators can set the debug level on the fly to help them resolve system problems without having to stop Alfresco.

Just a few shots I took when I recently booted my old PowerTower Pro 225 (normally 225mhz 604e, but I got a G3 upgrade for mine as a gift). Running Mac OS 9.1. Was nicely outfitted with an impressive 512MB of RAM. Definitely made my friends jealous at the time. :) Used this machine as my main computer for quite a few years!

 

"Debugger Installed" - even though I wasn't much of a programmer at the time, I kept MacsBug installed so I could try to keep the system running in the event of a crash. I think I used it to crack a game or something one time, good old 4E71.

 

I thought this was a good shot to show what many many thousands of users worldwide saw every day for quite some years. Also thought it might bring back some memories of Mac users who haven't seen that old familiar Silverlining Pro dialog in quite a long time. ;)

Crashed Economy: Debugging and Rebooting

To face the current economical crisis means to question dualistic perspectives such as capitalism vs anti-capitalism as well as to imagine a sustainable network of values in which accumulation of growth and precarity are substituted by a grassroots ecology of sharing built on an increasing capacity for sociability. This event presents two sets of projects which question the notion of capitalism through direct intervention and collective reflections proposing an exodus from proprietary money and trade regulation through distributed commons and practices of social networking.

 

In Part 1: What Capitalism? Steve Lambert (us) and Daniel Garcia Andujar (es) show how one can critique the concept of capitalism in times of crisis through direct interventions and ludic practices. Elanor Colleoni (it/dk) will act as respondent.

A screenshot of my game Null Op in debug mode. It lets you visualize the A* path finding algorithm over the level.

 

Blue squares have been searched by A*, purple ones are the optimal path. The top number is the cost to move to a given square and the bottom number is the estimated cost to the destination.

 

An overlay has been placed over the level representing metadata about each square. Black represents "blocked" squares and orange-red are "dangerous" squares.

The JTAG-HS3 is the newest member of our family of affordable high-speed Xilinx® FPGA programming solutions. The HS3 builds on the successful JTAG-HS1 by adding an open-drain buffer to pin 14 allowing for the debugging of Xilinx Zynq-SOC processors. It can be attached to target boards using Xilinx's 2x7 connector*, and is compatible with all Xilinx tools, including iMPACT™, ChipScope™, and EDK.

 

When connected to a PC via a standard A to micro-USB cable, the JTAG HS3 receives its power from USB and can be recognized as a Digilent programming cable, even if the HS3 is not attached to the target board. The JTAG bus can be shared with other devices as the HS3's signals are held in high-impedance, except when actively driven during programming. The HS3 is small and light, allowing it to be held firmly in place by the system board connector.
