A sunset on Loch Hosta that just kept performing. In the end it won, and I walked the flower dotted shore to the cottage, taking the occasional photo. I loved these emerging rushes, and the sky was still full of Cozmic debris, a favourite frank Zappa track.

Lake Ruataniwha clearings by the Ohau River entrance. It may take a while for all the debris to be removed, but it will open up more areas to the lake's waterfront in the future.

A sizeable chunk of drift wood, or around half a tree washed up in the beach entrance in recent days in Whitby, North Yorkshire.

After taking a few images of this, I went with the moody sky hanging over the pier - as it seemed to make the most of the scene.

Sandhill cranes (Antigone canadensis, Gruidae) come together before their migration south to warmer regions for the winter. Here they are collected at the White River Marsh State Wildlife Area in the Town of Seneca west of Berlin, Green Lake County, Wisconsin.

Cranes are known for throwing debris in the air. Sometimes they do it if they have a mouth full or debris with their prey. Often times, however, they toss stuff into the air as part of their "dance" rituals with other cranes. The dances may be associated with courtship or aggression when another bird gets too close.

The second hero's from the storm! The first are the power trucks and now the tree service trucks. The piles of debris around our hood have been very high! We are looking good again!

"'The 'Debris' (middle) by Gönül Nuhoğlu explores the chaotic effects of the concept of private property, where ownership feels like a prison sentence. It reflects a broader societal decline at a time when empathy, compassion and a sense of shared humanity are fading.

'The Ship of Fools' (left and right) depicts the conflict between political power and personal freedom. Rulers label their order 'reasonable' and the opposition 'insane'. As power shifts, the labels reverse; today's fool becomes tomorrow's expert. Only

by seizing power can rebels prove their sanity, continuing an endless historical cycle. In our tiny domains, where power changes fast, we create an army of fools, ourselves included, ultimately trapping us all."

I sat still for a while and got several perspectives of this little guy as he searched through the rocks and debris piled up against the surf.

"Farming is a profession of hope." _ Brian Brett

While I am patiently waiting for the warmer weather of spring to arrive, I realize that farmers have more at stake than I do if spring is a wetter and cooler season this year. Last weekend we had our snowstorm but this weekend there is hope of two digit temperatures and some sun. There is hope that this will melt the last of our snow and maybe I can play in the garden for a few hours. I need to be careful not to uncover too much debris as some of our pollinators may still be sleeping in the warm underground until it really warms up. However, I just can't resist the urge to get my hands just a little bit dirty this weekend.

Wonderful drive into Applecross using the Bealach na Ba road. Rather than 'losing' the fishing debris I kept it in as I like how the stark man-made colours contrast with the natural, late winter colours.

Well , I just had to snap this deer having a chomp on a big stick . As a result of the recent storms a number of trees were felled in the winds , however all over Bushy Park here there were numerous branches , twigs and other debris strewn all over . It seemed the deer were quite curious about this as the character in the photo was far from being the only deer intrigued by all these bits of trees lying about . I assume instead of clearing all the bits up ( a mammoth job as well ) I am thinking it all gets left for nature to do the job .

Brown Lacewing/Tasmanian Lacewing (Micromus tasmaniae) larva

When in the larval stage these Lacewings pick up and carry a load of natural 'debris'. This gives them some protection from predators. I first spotted it feeding on the pollen and ignored it, then it moved.
