Dean Village (from dene, meaning 'deep valley') is a former village immediately northwest of the city centre of Edinburgh, Scotland. It was known as the "Water of Leith Village" and was the centre of a successful grain milling area for more than 800 years. At one time there were no fewer than eleven working mills there, driven by the strong currents of the Water of Leith.
Dean Village is a wee hamlet on the Water of Leith, Edinburgh.
It is situated a short walk from Edinburgh city centre.
I know, I know, it's the usual tourist shot! I like it anyway... after all it's the usual tourist shot for a good reason :-)

"Love is like a river,
A never ending stream.
Love is shared by each other,
To answer someone's dream."
West Dean (or Westdean) is located on the edge of Friston Forest. Its church is dedicated to All Saints.

A power walk for exercise purposes took me to Dean Village and back home - then back to self isolation

Taken from the track at the top of Thieveley Scout looking down passed Dean Scout on the left to Buckley Wood and Royd Wood in the valley below. The two reservoirs just visible of the opposite side of the valley are Hurstwood on the left and Cant Clough in the centre, both are popular with walkers and bird watchers. Worsthorne Moor is across to the right of the photo.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
We booked tickets online to revisit West Dean Gardens with our friends today. Whilst Huw and our friends took a look inside the greenhouses, I tried a few ICM shots in one of the herbaceous borders.
O Water of Leith Village , en escocés "dene" significa "valle profundo" .
