The Franciscan Monastery in Northeast Washington DC has existed for over 100 years and the beautiful gardens and famous grottos have been in place for over 80 years. This shot was taken from one of the porticos that form the perimeter of the main courtyard.
Several more photos from the monastery are here: flic.kr/s/aHskbkrDzR
No correlation here just some random combos that i've wanted to try.
L to R:
Kyle Rayner: i got a new star wars set and thought the clones torso looked good for kyle.
Hawkman: added white eyes and some dual molded legs, i don't like that it's dark green but it's a decent concept.
Icon: finding good combos for this guy were kinda hard, i wanted to have that ring in the middle of his chest and the gold rings along his legs, and this is what i came up with.
After this summer’s No Justice event, almost all of the major hero teams underwent major shakeups in their rosters. What do you guys think of the nü Teen Titans, Titans, and Justice League? Are the right characters in the spotlight or have your favorites been shunned?
Raven and Arsenal came about from just fiddling with new and old parts. Look, I made Arsenal’s weird exoskeleton arm sleeve thingy! But only on one arm unfortunately, and the part’s actually now permanently occupying another figure that I’ve yet to reveal. :)
I’m sure if I had the Dimensions Raven torso, I’d be nailing her Rebirth look spot on. But I’m okay with this one too, it’s accurate enough.
DC Figs #49
From L to R
Clock King: My attempt at a purist classic version of him.
Red Hood: Based off the Arkham Knight version. I drew the logo on free hand and smudged it up to make it look like he painted it on his armour.
Azreal: I gave him the Jim Gordon arms which I think look pretty cool for him and some Nijago legs.
Electrocutioner: My own version of him
What do you think?
Just a cursory look at my photostream will reveal that I have a particular love for DC. In fact, I was born there and, even though I was raised primarily in Maryland, I consider myself "from" DC.
I walked the streets of my city once again this past weekend. I have to say, it didn't feel the same. For some reason, I felt alienated from the town I love so much.
This is the first of a series of shots from Washington, DC.
On Saturday Nov 24, 1973 a United States Navy Douglas Super DC-3 airplane was forced to land on Sólheimasandur’s black sand beach in the south of Iceland after experiencing some severe icing.
Luckily all crew members survived the crash, but the airplane’s fuselage was abandoned.
This site is now pretty touristy with people climbing all over it, inside it, taking photos. It's about a 4km walk to the crash site - you can no longer drive to it. This is a 6 minute exposure causing the moving clouds to render themselves as streaks and it also makes people disappear!
Technical Details:
Nikon D810 | Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 @28mm, 360sec, ISO 64, f/11 | Formatt-Hitech 16Stop Firecrest ND Filter stacked with 3 stop ND Grad | Manfrotto tripos and hydro-static ball head.
Might seem like an odd choice of subjects, but I love the symmetry, lights and patterns in the metro stations in DC. This is Virginia Square/GMU station, which is in Arlington, VA.
Not an easy subject without a tripod!
(The geek in me is always reminded a bit of the launch bays in Battlestar Galactica....)
On Explore/interestingness for December 11; highest position #28.
The Washington DC wasteland in Fallout 3... anxiously awaiting the new Fallout 4 for Christmas with better graphics, etc. which takes place in Boston.
“A heap of broken images, where the sun beats,
And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief,
And the dry stone no sound of water. Only
There is shadow under this red rock,
(Come in under the shadow of this red rock),
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.”
- T.S. Eliot, The Waste Land

Since I neither have a spare Jek-14 head nor a pair of Hyperion legs, I elected to simplify the figure that's actually going up on my collection shelf and use a spare SW head I had lying around to transform Ronnie into Jax. I personally prefer the Ghost-Rider hairpiece over the Syndrome one - I can assure you that it looks better in real life than it does in this photo.

The reason why there is some undesired polarization in the shot, was I had just arrived at the airport and hadn't even gotten out of the car yet, when this appeared in front of me. So I hastily shot it through the car windshield lol
Just a couple antihero types I made with newly acquired parts - you probably could have made all of these figures like five years ago with the parts I used but they're new to me.

after seeing the movie....the Jared Leto has became my favorite joker and if you saw the movie....when the scene where joker wears this suit....he's really mad just keeps on laughing so that's why I gave him a crazy face :)
I have once again photographed another family portrait of a bunch of goofy colorful characters! It was another case of “geez I have a lot of these figs lying around on their own, why don’t I put them all together in ONE GIANT PHOTO!”
And I know nobody ever reads these, but if you did, a majority of the custom figs are my own designs using elements and fig parts from Christo7108, Citizen Brick, BigKidBrix, Lab9, KOPF/Knock-Offs, Minifig Madness, Phoenix Customs, EclipseGrafx, Funny Brick, Minifigure Maniacs, Crystal Minifigs… and uh yeah… probably more. Additionally Martian Mahunter’s boots are edited. They do not exist.
If you guys want to see how I edited this shot, check out my Patron to watch it all come together! Or grab yourself a poster on my RedBubble! :)
