On Saturday November 24th, 1973, this United States Navy Douglas DC-3 was forced to crash land on this stretch of beach in Solheimasandur.

Douglas Super DC-3 lies on a deserted black beach in Iceland. Once a symbol of U.S Navy, now probably the most well known "photographic attractions" of Iceland.

DC (Donau City) Tower 1 is 220 metres high, which makes it the tallest skyscraper not only in Vienna but also in Austria. It was finished in 2014 and designed by a French architect Dominique Perrault.

This plane had been damaged in a windstorm and cannibalized. This boneyard had two more DC-3's and the adjoining airport had two flyable including one equipped as a crop duster!

A look at the satellite view (10/21) shows the three wrecks still there, but the flyables have flown.

A more obscure DC comics character (though made more popular with his inclusion in Justice League Dark), Detective Chimp holds Dr Fate's helmet in his hand, wondering what happened to the man who should be wearing it... (and I'm wondering where I can get a better looking version of said helmet)

I almost got completely screwed by the GALBRC, but thankfully they had baretables bringing up the rear. I almost didn't spend some PTO on these, but I thought they wouldn't be paired up forever and this may have been my only shot. Glad I did!

I was fortunate to have a day and an evening to tour and photograph in DC last week. I was even more fortunate to meet flickr friend Scott McLeod there

(www.flickr.com/photos/dscottmcleod) for a walking tour. Scott made the trip a success with his suggestions on places and times and even exposures. Look at Scotts truly great channel.

This is a three shot combination into HDR in LR then I sharpened it in NIK to give the present look.
