Day Tripper/We Can Work It Out was released in the UK on 3 December 1965.

My take on The Beatles song 'Day Tripper'! Harlequin Ladybird beetle hitching a ride on a VW Beetle.

South Allouette River

The Alouette River flows from Alouette Lake to its junction with the Fraser River at Pitt Meadows. Typical of many Lower Fraser tributaries, it drains a mountain watershed in the Coast Mountains.

The Alouette River was known as the Lillooet River until 1914, at which time its name was changed to avoid confusion with the much larger Lillooet River.

Helensburgh lies at the western mainland end of the Highland Boundary Fault. This means that the hills to the north of Helensburgh lie in the Highlands, whereas the land to the south of Helensburgh is in the Lowlands or Central Belt of Scotland. Consequently, there is a wide variety of landscape in the surrounding area – for example, Loch Lomond (part of Scotland's first National Park) is only 4 miles (6.4 km) over the hill to the north-east of Helensburgh. Although the Highland Boundary Fault is not geologically active, very minor earthquakes do occur occasionally in the area.

Located south of St Andrews, Anstruther is the largest in a string of charming, old-fashioned fishing villages along the stretch of Fife coast known as the East Neuk.

Popular with daytrippers and holidaymakers even with the dodgy Scottish weather.

Popular beach and boating. Clontarf Beach is one of the best Sydney beaches for kids of all ages, but especially for little kids, babies and toddlers. Clontarf Beach is a large sandy foreland that has been formed by ocean waves pushing sand deep into this part of Middle Harbour, 5 km from the Heads. The waves have built out the beach up to 300 m, providing the low sandy foreland now occupied by Clontarf Park and beachfront homes along Monash Crescent. The park has long been a popular area, with daytrippers arriving by ferry in the 19th century and now by car and boat. The park has amenities, a kiosk and is fronted by a netted tidal pool. The beach is moderately steep, with a narrow strip of intertidal sand, then the deeper water of the harbour. It trends 440 m along the southwest-facing side of the foreland, which is backed by beachfront houses, then the park. It then continues for another 200 m along the northern northwest-facing side, which includes the tidal pool and which terminates at the mouth of a small creek. Beach continues north of the creek for 130 m to a seawall and rocky point. It is a low energy, west-facing strip of sand and fronted by 50 m wide sand flats, with the Clontarf Marina and jetty crossing the northern end of the beach. Numerous boats are moored off the northern side of Clontarf and adjacent Sandy Bay, with the Clontarf Marine located on the boundary between the two, providing access and service for the boats. z2_336

A brief Beatles Based whistle stop tour of Liverpool recently. Only took my phone so please don't zoom in on the pictures as you won't like what you find!

btw, if you ever find yourself there with 90mins on your hands, do the Blue Route Beatles bus tour. Voted 10th best tour attraction in the World on Trip Advisor for a reason. We toured, we laughed, we learned and we sang! Best bus trip ever!!

What draws most travellers to Volendam in the Netherlands is the typical village centre with its old houses, the bustling harbour area and fishermen's town atmosphere. Just walking around the old centre will quickly make you get the vibe. Be aware however that Volendam is one of the more popular sites to visit in the Netherlands for daytrippers from all around the world, who are taken in droves to Volendam to see a 'traditional' Dutch village. The oldest part of the centre is sometimes called 'the labyrinth', for its narrow streets and seemingly random plan.

This is what we saw during our Cycling holiday in Noord-Holland, the Netherlands, where we have cycled through the beautiful landscape.

So look what just turned up today at Pennant Hills, in northern Sydney!!

It's travelled through a time-tunnel, all the way from 1965.

I visited the Pennant Hills Market Place late this afternoon for coffee at the cool 'Leaf' cafe, and also to buy some sashimi from Pennant Hills Seafood, and then, upon walking back to the car parked on Ramsay Road - there it was!!! A Cadillac!!!

Like it had been there since 1965. Amazing.

This is an entry-level Cadillac from 1965. And here is one of the biggest songs from 1965: 'Day Tripper' by The Beatles.

Perfect for a Cadillac, lol.

And, as you may note, this Cadillac is obviously imported from America because look where the steering wheel is - on the left hand side of the car. How weird is this!! This Cadillac has not been converted to right hand drive, lol.

Winter in Cumbria is a quieter time as daytrippers stay away, but has the best mood when it's like this

One of the most photographed constructions in the UK. The skeletal remains of the pier rising from the sea attract both locals and visitors to capture its uniqueness and to many its beauty.

I'm sad to say the end of an era has been reached. For those lucky enough to have travelled on the Maria Island Ferry would no doubt be aware of the owners, John and Anne who have taken 500,000 passengers to the island during their 10 year service. Their passion towards the island was evident in their rapport with tourists from all over the world. I will so greatly miss them and their service and I made sure I got to ride this very last run.

Here John guides the ferry gently towards Darlington Wharf for the last time on Thursday 30th March, 2017.

As a P.S.

I got to see the new vessel today also and it is impressive but the price for the comfort is going to be a killer for some including me. Casual daytrippers will be ok as their fare will include entry to the park despite a $10 increase in the fare which will be negated by the Parks Pass. For backpackers and locals wishing to camp and stay over there is going to be a huge increase in price. Each piece of luggage will cost $10 and that is only to 15kgs. So with tent, and all the other gear it will cost even more so instead of just walking on the boat now everything's going to be complicated and expensive. So unless they change their pricing for campers this once happy camper might not be going there too often or at all.
