Wrapping things up for tonight…. Hopefully I can hit the gym tonight, if not, first thing tomorrow morning, and back to the grind again.
Do you have any big plans for the weekend? We personally don’t have anything major in plans but we will do something small and interesting. So until we come back with some new images, hopefully, I had to post some new work from Chicago. This is a frame from a few weeks back when the evening was nothing short of a magical. We even got to capture the amazing “Union Pacific” Engine. What do you think?
Testing out my Samyang 12mm wide angle lens in Irvine.... during the day.... then turned it into night.....
Another experiment of turning a daylight (1pm) shot to dawn- well looking away from the sun. Not sure this can be done, but having fun experimenting.
Long exposure of 30 seconds using ten stop and grad filter for skies.
This is a nice bay that can be seen from the east of Tantallon but only recently found that you could get down to it.
If anyone one wants directions let me know.
(or, how I spent 2.5 hours perched 3000 feet above the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon)
This is a technique to show the passage of time in a wide scene. Images were collected over 2.5 hours and blended in Lightroom and Photoshop.
Note the Crescent Moon and Venus in the center during the Blue Hour.

This is a stitch in Lightroom Classic of about eight vertical frames captured about 5 minutes apart with increasingly short exposure times in an attempt to show the transition from night to day in a single panoramic image. For a variety of reasons, I don't consider this exercise a success, and will go back another morning to try again.
The photo covers many hours compressed into one photo. There is a 10 minute nighttime star trail exposure and day time bathing action.

We were in Antipolo one evening as the sun began its graceful descent, and I couldn’t resist capturing the scene. The moment was pure magic: a hazy sky filled with warm, melting tones, subtly enhanced by the gentle touch of rain seeding that lent an air of mystery. As I framed the shot, the silhouettes of distant structures merged with the soft glow of the sunset, creating a serene and dynamic tapestry. It felt like a blend of nature’s raw beauty and urban vitality—a fleeting memory imprinted in light and shadow.
Amsterdam, Netherlands. Left is the Central Station. Taken at the Lookout (former Shell building), Amsterdam North.
Well I've seen a few pure photoshop creations myself, and decided it was about time for me to dabble a bit... and here's pretty much the result... The original shot was mine, but the stars I may have borrowed from a certain little known space research agency...

Day to night timelapse. The Dutch town Zaltbommel comes to life at night. The river Waal is the main branch of the Rhine in the Netherlands.
Last week I had a perfect evening in Zurich West. This photo is a multipanorama from 32 exposures (4 panoramas à 4 images à two exposures) taken during 45 minutes from after sunset to blue hour...
