A fine Italian rear end!
The Ferrari Daytona, officially the 365 GTB/4, was produced from 1968 to 1973.
Production details
The Daytona was Ferrari's flagship grand tourer.
It was introduced at the Paris Auto Salon in 1968.
Only 1,406 units were produced.
The Daytona was available in two variants: the 365 GTB/4 coupe, and the 365 GTS/4 convertible.
The Daytona was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti of Pininfarina.
Competition success
Competition versions of the Daytona won their class in the Le Mans 24-hour race in 1972, 1973, and 1974.
As late as 1979, a Daytona finished second outright in the Daytona 24-hour race.
Collector's item
The Daytona is a highly coveted collector's item today.
The Daytona is considered the last of the true "Enzo" Ferraris created before the Fiat influence arrived in Maranello in 1969.
As I said in my bio, when I was a young man I got to play with some VERY neat sports cars. This Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona was my absolute favorite; it was my daily driver for a month or so while we were rebuilding the motor of my '71 Alfa Romeo in between paying customer's cars. You can understand why it took so long... 😉

Ferrari Challenge
Grand-Am was the sanctioning body behind the North American arm of the international Ferrari Challenge series. Using identical race-tuned Ferraris, the series originally ran the F355 then switched to the 360 Modenas before switching to new F430s in 2006 and the 458 Italia in 2010.
Shell Historic Challenge
Tied together with the Ferrari Challenge series, the Shell Historic Challenge is a series consisting of older Ferrari, Maserati, and Scuderia Ferrari-run Alfa Romeo models. Although a racing series, the competition is more of an exhibition of the classic machinery than a true race.

Daytona Beach is a city in Volusia County, Florida, United States. It lies about 51 miles (82.1 km) northeast of Orlando, 86 miles (138.4 km) southeast of Jacksonville, and 242 miles (389.5 km) northwest of Miami. In the 2010 U.S. Census, it had a population of 61,005. It is a principal city of the Deltona Daytona Beach Ormond Beach, FL metropolitan statistical area, which was home to 590,289 people in 2010. Daytona Beach is also a principal city of the Fun Coast region of Florida.
The city is historically known for its beach where the hard-packed sand allows motorized vehicles to drive on the beach in restricted areas.[8] This hard-packed sand made Daytona Beach a mecca for motorsports, and the old Daytona Beach Road Course hosted races for over 50 years. This was replaced in 1959 by Daytona International Speedway. The city is also the headquarters for NASCAR.
Daytona Beach hosts large groups of out-of-towners that descend upon the city for various events, notably Speedweeks in early February when over 200,000 NASCAR fans come to attend the season-opening Daytona 500. Other events include the NASCAR Coke Zero 400 race in July, Bike Week in early March, Biketoberfest in late October, and the 24 Hours of Daytona endurance race in January.
Found that random 365 GTB/4 Daytona Series I (plexi) yesterday while looking for fine wines in the Bordeaux area.
