We have a lot of stuff. I like to arrange it in little dioramas and tableaux. This one features day of the dead figures (an Elvis and a torch singer with red hair), 60s dollhouse furniture, a black velvet painting of a tropical sunset, and the Creature From the Black Lagoon. Sultry!

Here's an interesting 'ofrenda'. I've highlighted some of the items on display, but also interesting are the paper cutouts on the 2nd and top tiers.
Other items on display - apples, bananas and oranges, liquor.
Tamale
Definition: [tuh-MAH-lee] From the Nahuatl word (tamalii), the tamale is a popular Mexican dish that consists of various fillings (such as finely chopped meat and vegetables) coated with a masa dough and wrapped in a softened corn husk. This package is then tied and steamed until the dough is cooked through. The corn husk is peeled back before the tamale is eaten. Although savory tamales are the most popular in the United States, many cooks in Mexico also serve sweet tamales, usually filled with fruit.
