Day 99/365: 2015
The weekly theme is giving the mundane it's beautiful due.
Also for April 2015: A month in 30 pictures
I really struggled today to find anything to photograph, some days are just like that.
my new garden friend - Mr RobinSon, who was busy the whole day clearing my garden off insects and creepy crawlies (how thoughtful!). This photo was taken through a window, when I was working hard on other photo posts today :) I love birds!
eighth in the series of family portraits, the littlest kitty wanted to show off her family-- dad and mom and 2 of her cousins, ginger and tri.

Thanks so much for your wonderful visits, they mean a lot!!
<3 for moleskines and early morning light :)
Happy Sunday!
Last night, (in lieu of studying!) I spent hours and hours clicking from one amazing photographer's website to another. Felt so inspired! And was in awe for hours. Ahh so much to strive for!
And if you've got no other choice
You know you can follow my voice
Through the dark turns and noise
Of this wicked little town
99/365.
It's still winter in Edmonton too. -10C and we had to spray this morning.
And bonus points if you get the Day "99" and Edmonton connection (North Americans need not apply for this, it's too easy)
I seem to be developing my own little theme here... night shots of flowers and the third twilight shot in a row. I did have other shots today, I just liked this one the most.
it's about 2:09 a.m. and the pushing has really begun in earnest. the midwife is saying something about the baby's head, which is visible.
ever since the beginning of the year, I knew this was going to be my day 99 photo, since I pass by this place a couple of times a week. so here it is, my day 99.
ODC: predictable
another take on this would be, I've got 99 problems and a (fill in the blank) ain't one
the midwife listens to the babies heart sounds just to make everything sounds great! and indeed, everything does sound great!
Well today I am breaking the rules to congratulate myself. Today my husband and I have been married 26 years, wowee, where did the time go?
In addition to the 365 photo challenge, I am on the downhill slope of another self imposed challenge. I joined the gym last summer and started logging my exercise and food into the app MyFitnessPal. Today is number 270! If you miss logging in, the count automatically resets to zero so I am totally diligent and set a daily alarm so I don't forget.
Also another great morning of Zumba and running and getting in my 10,000 steps before 7:15. Feeling fine about the start of a day for celebration.
Themes - Giving the mundane its beautiful due and "breaking the rules".
I want to give credit for this composition to Karen Islas www.flickr.com/photos/sunriseinyoureyes/17063491635/in/fa.... I totally was inspired to create my own version.

Ok, first of, I'm sorry for the weird title... I had no idea how to call this one. But with it raining for 5 Days in a row I needed to do something with colours again. Lots of colours (well, actually there are just 3 different once, but those over and over again (I knew I should have gotten the green lampion too - damn it)).
Tomorrow is Day 100 of the Project 365 and I don't know how much time I got to work on a picture, so I thought I do something involving a bit more work today. Once more there is less editing involved as you might think.
First I went ahead and got my point of view locked by placing the camera on a tripod and not moving it an inch afterwards. Then I got my lights set up and took the picture of myself. With that done (surprisingly that went pretty fast this time) I removed the lights and got my black diffusor out. I placed a flash in one of the lampions and then walked around the room with the lampion in front of the black background and started taking pictures in various distances and highs... do that with all three and your picture is done. Do to the flash the room was perfectly black and just the lampion was glowing and with the black background always behind it I got no light contamination onto the rest of the room. I could have just taken one picture of each lampion and then copied that over and over again, but then the focus, the angle and the perspective would have been the same with every one of them and that wouldn't have looked natural. It also would have needed way more editing, because I would have to chance the size and position of every one over and over again. With all those different images I was able to just open them in the editing Software, erase the black background and voilà - done.

99/365 -Around the house - Day 99
----------------------------------------------------
REFLECTING
At a certain point, if you still have your marbles and are not faced with serious financial challenges, you have a chance to put your house in order.
It's a cliche, but it's underestimated as an analgesic on all levels.
Putting your house in order, if you can do it, is one of the most comforting activities, and the benefits of it are incalculable.

Our Daily Challenge - Negative Space
99:365
I love negative space but today just didn't seem to come together, so went to my go-to - thread!
I still can't think of any good titles. I envy all of you who can =P **this title was thought up be a good friend of mine ;-) **
I had a photo shoot with a senior today. Maybe I'll be able to post some of those later.
After the photo shoot, I went on a hike to take my self portrait. It was really half exploring because I didn't really know where I was going. In the end, I found an old, broken down fire place in the woods. It served as my background today. :) I rather like how this turned out.
It was very cold out. 9_9 I ended up sitting in the snow half the time. That on top of being pelted with ice falling from the trees is the reason why im so terribly white!! O_O I was incredibly cold.. but that is the joy of winter :)
-Day99-
099/365 2015
I've shot this tree many times as it's on the way to my Mom's. Yesterday's foggy morning was enough to make me hop out of the car and shoot it again.
(Yesterdays) Today's self-portrait was inspired by another Photographer I follow on Flickr. The sudden thunderstorm that hit the New York area also played a part as well. It's amazing how quick we can go from a clear sunny day to a stormy evening, but I guess that's reflective of life. Things can be going great one minute then the next thing you know your standing in the middle of a downpour without an umbrella. Day99/365 #project365 - The Rain
Taken in Montpellier Cathedral. Sunlight pouring through the stained glass and reflecting onto the stonework. All the churchy stuff in churches bores me. I've never gotten this god malarkey, but the use of space and light really appeals to the photographer in me.
Easter morning 2023 at Crescent Lake, Buchanan Township, Berrien County, Michigan, dawned cold and calm but far from quiet as the air was alive with the springtime activities of the local birds.
