And she stared into the golden.
And in the golden she saw.
He was.
Is.
Everything.
Bailey and I were only on this field for about 10 minutes and then a little dog came running out of a yard and then we had to run away because Bailey goes crazy when she sees dogs...

We arrived a few minutes early for Holy Thursday mass last night and the last sun rays were shining brightly through the stained glass window onto the crucifix. I had put the 50mm lens on the camera specifically so that it would fit in my purse, and in "silent shooting" mode I was able to take a few quick snaps without bothering anyone... Just a few minutes later the sun dipped too low to shine thru the window, and the marvelous colored light was gone.
Happy Good Friday to everyone who celebrates that event, and if not Happy Friday anyway !
I am living the hard life lately....Not really lol...my vacation is almost over and it is pretty sad lol...I am still as white as white can be...I need to come back with some sort of tan or people will never believe me that i went to Jamaica haha Brock and I went and saw the dolphins yesterday and I really wanted my photo to be of me riding them but the dolphin cove people said no cameras and we had to pay for pictures that the "professional" photographer was taking....AKA standing in one spot pressing the button a million times and not moving or saying anything lol....so we have like 20 shots of my that look the same and had to pay a fortune for them! boooo lol Anyways, we also climbed a 960ft waterfall! (no cameras unless waterproof were aloud of course...sigh) It was neat! We actually walked through the falls and not just around them! They say the falls make you 10 years younger lol....not seeing a difference yet but maybe? haha Anyways, Enjoy Day 87! :)
My copycat of the amazing image, "050/2009 Year 2 T is for Tyskie" taken by the ever imaginative and creative Tyla.
Prior to starting my 365 selfie project I had been lurking on the FGR group and checking out the images of the many talented photographers who played there.
Tyla's images and stream caught my attention by the creativity and sheer breadth of the work she produces! She is always shooting consistently great images covering a wide variety of subjects. Along with the choice of subjects, she also has the talent and know-how to apply many different styles to her work. And last but not least, her passion for life and her fierce independence are shared with us all in such a fantastic manner, bringing together a visual and mental journey that just must be followed to be fully appreciated!
Thanks Tyla for sharing your work and for your never-ending generosity in viewing all of our streams, with unwavering dedication.

I was shooting a completely different photo tonight when suddenly my daughter walked into the room with these silly mittens on and changed everything.

Went to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival with my sister, her beau and his sister+brother in-law.
We had fun actually just playing around there and taking pictures for multiplicity/clones. Their clones, not mine. Haha.
I developed really bad allergies this year.

Friday
Taking advantage of the ripped up bathroom for a new background. Plus, the wall I normally use is to the right of the picture, and is some 8 foot- 2x4, looking into the bathroom. I can't wait until it's all done. It's going to be an all new and fresh bathroom. It's going to be like the nicest room in this shitty house.
I'm pretty much sick of hanging out with dudes who are fixing the termite damage, and the plumbing. They talk more then chicks do. Talking my ear off all day long. I have to escape sometimes to the backyard so I don't have to talk.
Today, I got to spend the day with the plumber. Plumbers crack is not a myth. It's real, and it was alive in my house today. A big, huge, hairy plumbers crack. I think half of his fat ass was hanging out. Every time I looked there it was staring at me, and I kept saying to myself "Crack kills!". The guy was fat, and after 5 minutes of working his face was purple, his shirt was totally wet, and he was breathing so fucking heavy. I thought for sure he was going to have a heart attack right there in the bathroom.
My favorite part of the day was when he told me how he thought he lost all his hair from being in prison. Oh schweet! Just what a chick wants to hear as she is alone in the house with you. I was to afraid to ask what he was in for. I didn't want to hear the answer if it was for rape or murder or something. White trash is amazing.
"Once in a While, Right in the middle of an ordinary life, Love gives us a fairy tale." ~Anonymous
Although your wedding and your marriage is not always a perfect fairytale ending it is a beautiful story. Fairy tales give the impression that life is going to be perfect if you do this or do that. It never is but if you allow yourself to enjoy life, and not sweat the small stuff then you can have the closest thing to a fairy tale that you will ever get.

Went to see some Philly Roller Girl action last night with Christy and Sarah Davenport from Wilmington (a former Philly roller girl and a soon to be one again! Also a photographer who has captured the Roller Girls at their best).
I saw a Derby in Arizona a few years back and enjoyed it, though I had no idea how the game was played. Last night it helped to have Sarah explain as we watched, but there is still much that remains a mystery. It turns out that much of it is a mystery to the players, as well, so I don't feel so bad. :-)
I have no real experience shooting something like this, or action in general, so it was a challenge. I don't have the best equipment, but I tried. I took 144 shots and after going through them this morning I think I have 3 I would actually post here and 1 I might post via TwitPic as a joke. Not too bad. LOL!
It was a ton of fun and I was really impressed with how diverse the crowd was, something I noticed in Arizona but figured was particular to that area. It was great to see people from so many varied walks of life hanging out together. The women in these leagues are from all kinds of careers, too. You'd be surprised! The one thing they all have in common is that they kick serious ass (and I mean that literally and symbolically). They are inspirational.
These are two players from the Philly team the Philthy Britches, who wiped the floor with the Texas Hustlers last night. GO BRITCHES!
I gave in!
But I'm too scared the hairdresser will chop off too much of the rest of my hair, so I've done it myself.
Woo hoo for wonky fringes...
(Tom told me I look like Peggy off Mad Men. I was not impressed!)

113 pictures in 2013: #33 Night time
Pushed by smallcloughs to try Night Photography, I headed out for a second attempt. Into the graveyard this time. Built in 1812, this is a beautiful church in the village green. It's not every night it's lit up like this but this being Holy Thursday, they were having a special evening service.
Right should be the final Photoshop and final time you see my face for a while as things may have gotten a bit repetitive.
Yaaaaaaah! This is a neighbourhood cat who often pops into our house when he's passing, looking for food and a sun-filled place to sit. Today he was up for playing - wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of him with those claws!

Just did not feel inspired today after a busy day at work. So I decided to cook up some spaghetti from my very own recipe. After a good meal and cleaning up my dishes, I looked into my strainer and got an idea. So take one strainer, one crystal ball, one led flashlight shining thru an amber bottle, one led flashlight with a blue filter on and having some fun in my dark kitchen! Ta dah.....just having fun and wow, I got inspired! Plus now I have left overs for lunch tomorrow!

Day 87 - March = Grey.
Gesture typing is the way forward for touch screens (in my opinion!)
Buffalo, NY has some funny town names. This is an island off from Grand Island, NY. Jennifer and Joyce both find it hilarious every time they pass this sign. My model for today wasn't able to make it so I was in need of a theme. We had passed this sign yesterday and the girls wanted a picture with it. Jennifer pulled over and was about to jump out and snap a shot. I thought, why not grab the AB800 out and do it up right. My camera batteries in my camera were dead so I was forced to use the double A batteries from both my SB-25 and one of my cyber syncs. I pop them in and what do you know, they were dead also. When I switched the power on and off I was able to get enough power to snap off 3 pictures. I didn't have any spare battery life to check the preview so I was forced to just trust I got the shot. Later on I found that I did get a decent exposed and framed shot. Not the most amazing shot but it is slightly humorous. Tomorrow we hit the road once again. This should be interesting as we are venturing to areas I've never been. More dots on the map and more adventure.

March 28th. So we're on the road. Apologies for my lack of comments everyone but traveling and socialising with friends and family. Last night we were in Bristol with friends, getting there about 9. They have just had their 3rd child who is 3 weeks. I did an informal shoot for them this morning and got some great pics. This is just one.
What has this to do with the challenge I hear you cry? Some years ago the infant death rate was surprisingly high. Following data collection, it was realised that sleeping baby's on their fronts gave a higher risk of ' cot death'. Following the very successful 'back to sleep' campaign in the 1990s, the rate of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) has dropped significantly.
Any excuse to take baby pictures!

Garden Project
The final stage of the garden har begun. A lot of soil and bushes was removed and we can now redesign that part of the garden. I can't wait.

We will soon be getting a new look pound coin as there are too many fake ones in circulation these days. Apparently it is going to look like a threepenny bit!
My challenge (given to me by Mr. Kevin Thai www.flickr.com/photos/kthai/) for the Get Pushed week is to use the same Lego Minifigure and show a range of emotions everyday. Today's emotion is disappointed!
The shadow of disappointment creeps over Clone Commander today. What has he done to make Lord Vader so unhappy?
Hopefully Clone Commander will make all 7 pushes this week......

as I was washing my lunchbox items after eating today... I saw how shiny and spectacular my reflection was. Soon I was grabbing my camera, grabbing the best angle, perspective, background, etc.
Tonight, in choosing between shots, and deciding on a title. As I was about to post, Jonathan talked me into kicking it up a notch...

Day 87: I recently finished an entertaining read about "starting." The short book, "Poke the Box," by Seth Godin, is described by the author as a manifesto about starting. I won't go about spewing its contents here. However, I will repeat the quesion posed by the subtitle of the book: When was the last time you did something for the first time?
En route from New Orleans to have dinner with a friend in Mobile AL, I couldn't resist a little side jaunt to see the Gulf of Mexico for the first time.
I pulled over in a convenient spot to make use of a nearby porta-potty, take some pictures, ooh and ahh over the pretty view, and to call my beloved. He was amused by my calling him so that he could hear the seagulls and waves.
Of the pictures I got, I like this "parking lane and lamppost against the sand and water" view the best.
