Every sunrise is a present, a gift from God above,
Gift-wrapped with scarlet ribbons and tied with bows of love.
Each day's a new beginning, a time to start anew,
While all the stars are sleeping, and the rose is fresh with dew.
Every day's a new creation, too lovely to ignore,
And we may find a blessing, just outside our door.
We cannot keep the past, like fireflies in a jar
Nor journey to the future by wishing on a star.
Every sunrise is a blessing, a gift for just today.
Rejoice, my friend, embrace it before it fades away!
This was taken before the sunrise on my way out for a jog. Although it’s chilly, I took advantage of the beautiful morning to get some fresh air because the rain will come again tomorrow and the coming days. Another sunrise view from my window.
Have a fantastic day everyone!! :)
86 of 365 Starburst - having so much fun taking these splash images and love how the LED torch has given me a starburst as well ........ going to be doing these quite a lot so I do apologise now for splashing and more splashing trying not to get too wet :-)

I took some shots at Lanercost Priory as the sun set. The one I chose was an afterthought as I turned around before heading to the car. In the end I opted for it as I quite like the sketchy quality the longer exposure gives to the sky. The trees are a bit cluttered, but I didn't have an axe handy to improve my composition.
I am going to pick up a prime lens and a new tripod tomorrow. So.... for I will be forced out of my comfort zone and I will get to see whether my camera is able to get out of F18+!
The tripod gave up the ghost completely today. The head can no longer support the weight of the camera and you can watch during a long exposure the lens droops and slides down. Not really pin sharp those shots I can tell you, but some interesting motion blurring! This was the final straw. It had already lost two of its three feet, and had one leg that wouldn't collapse. I only used it for the first time on 86 days ago and I've destroyed it.
I've recovered what whatever illness I had but am worn out from a busy week. So I will catch up on commenting over the long weekend. No work til Tuesday! Anyway, I must go. I've been reading this great book on anti-gravity and I can't put it down.
you have no choice but to listen to this with the photo... M.I.A. -- Paper Planes
I can't really explain why, but I am part Russian and I like secrecy. I also like fur hats, vodka, and Sean Connery. Oh yeah, and some guy stopped me at work and started speaking Russian to me. I didn't know what he was saying (or so I led him to believe ... true spy style); he then explained that he is Russian and I look Russian. I must look super Russian for him to be so presumptuous... or maybe he's also a spy. QED. Case closed.
day 86
all I wanna do is.... bang bang bang bang. and take your mon-ay
All I need to be happy at the moment is my 50mm, a flash and CTO Gels...
Well, of course there are other things that would work equally good or even better, but I don't want to be greedy. Todays topic was split, so I thought I go out, find me nice autumn colours and mix them together with some still green leaves. I thought I would be done in less then 15 minutes. Well, I was out in the woods for 2 hours, because it was so much fun and I got some really awesome pictures.

odc - my life (daily routine)
On the weekdays I tend to eat oatmeal loaded up with cinnamon, brown sugar, dried fruit and nuts. It is a great way to start to the day.

The weekly theme is food.
# 31 in my 100 x challenge - using my 50mm.
Didn't have any ideas for today's pic, after searching through my cupboards I came up with this.
No inspiration forthcoming from mother nature this evening, in terms of amazing skies anyway... Need to find some time to sit down with a notebook, and a pile of magazines and books, to come up with some new shot ideas... Here I am searching for them. With a torch.
lighting: 580EXII (1/8 power) to camera left (using off-camera cord). 430EX (slaved) on ground to camera right.
I had a disaster. my camera switched to RAW and i had no way to convert it and so this is the only photo i have right now from today and i don't even know how i managed to get this. maybe i'll add additional ones to the comments if i ever get a hold of them. uuuhhhh this is such a bummer. the sun was so pretty this afternoon and i enjoyed myself. besides getting rashes from whatever i lay in on the grass and the numerous strange looks i got off people and their dogs coming over and saying hi. today has been a lovely day and i've gota go revise psychology. my apologies for being behind on streams / flickr mail.
ALSO!!!!!~ I hit 20,000 views thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!~~~

Day 86 ~ 365: the 2013 edition
I could not see the lovely red sky for a second straight day but I was happy because I saw the lovely spot-billed ducks on both the two days.

I spotted this while we are on our way to Polynesian Cultural Center in Oahu. It's a rainy day and I stopped the car for a real quick shot. Wanted to get closer to get a better shot but didn't wan the camera to get wet :)
Happy Mother's Day!
My pictures today didn't turn out as good as I hoped. I am soo uninspired and just... bored with my own photostream. Grrrr.

Positive Work for the day:
Be the first to say "Hello".
Shot on iPhone 5.
After having some fun with the SlowShutter app and a Ferris wheel last night, I decided to try some pictures at lunch of pedestrians walking past.
I really needed the tripod - but I'm happy with this. 1 second handheld while I was sitting on a bus seat. These legs, incidentally, are not related - um, they belong to different people. I think I might experiment a bit more with this.
