I was unpacking and generally sorting things out at the house after a weekend at Mum and Dad's when I noticed the sky turning a nice sunset colour so grabbed the camera and went out for a walk on the Beverley Westwood. The sky was a lovely colour but way too much cloud obscured what would have been a lovely sunset. Then I bumped into a friend of mine up there so we went for a walk with her dogs so it wasn't a wasted trip.
Day 84/365: 2015
The weekly theme is food.
I took a photo of my breakfast, this morning, as a back up in case I didn't get anything else today.

Our Daily Challenge - A tough act to follow
yesterday's self portrait was so difficult and the outcome quite comical But as this is part of a 'get pushed' challenge I persevered - this one came out much better! More believably serious with a bit of storm trooper and a dash of matrix thrown in for effect.
84: 365
get pushed - serious enough?
84 of 365 Splash - had another go at catching a water splash - this time using a tripod and the Canon 500D - it took a while to get in time with the drops at first just kept on getting the nice smooth water images - nice colour but no splashy stuff :-( then finally got a bit of a rhythm going - there is a few that I was quite pleased with and this is one of them :-)

Hope you all have a great Easter Weekend :-) Thank you so much for visiting my photo stream and just having a look/ leaving a great comment or fave it is very much appreciated - take care :-)
It's been cloudy and rainy the past two days. I don't mind it so much, because I have my own little ray of sunshine right here. :)
{explored - thank you!}
She's gotten too big for her britches!
This is just to remind me that I'm a newbie to photography and not to get cocky if I happen to luck upon a good pic or two! I've got a LOT to learn.

It was with sadness that I learned last night of Paul Buff's passing. Paul was a free thinking pioneer and innovator in many fields. He was a writer, an artist, a musician and a photographer. Paul was a patron of the arts, who didn't just buy art. He invented and produced a revolutionary product, White Lightning monolights that suddenly made studio lighting affordable. Then he beat himself at his own game and made the same product even less expensive with Alien Bee monolights.
Through Paul Buff's product innovation he enabled photographers like myself to reach new levels of creativity. Without Paul Buff, many enthusiast photographers who survive on day jobs would be using natural light and/or speedlights. Paul Buff was a polarizing individualist who lived his beliefs. He steadfastly refused to allow camera stores to sell and mark up his equipment. He provided absolute customer satisfaction. Whether you agreed with him or not, you had to admit that the impact of his product and business model on photography was revolutionary in a scope just below digital photography itself. And for that, we can all be grateful.
Thank you Paul for all you did

No Ann's were harmed in the making of this 365. I must have jumped 20 times. My husband and son watched for a bit and then went on with their lives. I didn't land like this - I laid down to rest for the last shot.
I really need a remote...well, first a camera that uses a remote and then I need a remote.
I've missed being on everyone's streams. Flickr-restrict is hard. But, I finished my last 20 pager today (I'll do some slight revamping tomorrow but that is cake) and so now I have a break for a couple of weeks. Wahoo! 2 20-pagers, 2 3-pagers and 2 presentations, plus grading 53 final projects and inputting 67 final grades. I'm glad it's over.
Pieris Japonica. A broad-leafed evergreen shrub, native to eastern China, Taiwan, and Japan, that blossoms in the spring with long strands (racemes) of bell-shaped flowers that are sometimes mistaken for lily of the valley. From my mother's garden. One photo a day.(84/366) -- March 24, 2020
It hurts most if it hits you unprepared - here comes the pain!
When reading the topic (Motion) I new I wanted to do a multiexposure shot and try that finally. After the bright colourful bokeh shots the last days I was in for something dark and a bit sinister. After thinking about it for a while I came up with this idea. The shooting got done pretty fast, but the editing was a pain in the ass and took forever, but I really like the result. By the way, the title is inspired by an old Song recorded by the Farmer Boys (it's a weird video, so don't blame me ;o) ).

This is Sliabh Liag in Southwest Donegal. Edit: I was too wrecked to write anything on this last night and I haven't had a real chance to look at my contacts stuff this while. Paid a visit this Sliabh Liag yesterday with my brother who's visiting from London, where he works. It was fun, got a few more shots that I will share later. Heading off now for a two hour trip to someplace special and there I will do Day 85.... And what is with this new format

So this is why I couldn't take pictures on day 84. I had to get up kinda early and go set up for a fundraiser for YC from 9 to noon, then I went home and my friend came home with me so I couldn't take any photos either. Then we had to go back at 5 to serve food and stuff and then clean up until like 10 or 11... Yah.
