Even though my dad's real birthday is on Wednesday, we celebrated it today because my brother won't be in the state then. We went out to eat at an English pub and then came home to have some Dairy Queen blizzard cake! As you can probably guess, it was mint Oreo flavored- delicious!

Happy 50th Birthday, Dad!

Knowing that if they stay there long enough Harry and Missy will be fed grapes.

Day 68 of lockdown in the UK.

9.3.2018

My boyfriend and I walked around a lake today and I took these pictures with my instant camera.

I wanted to capture the white halogen light escaping from the overall warm, golden glow of my floor lamp. This is not a golden toned shade, but a pearlised inner coating on the white shade, that gives this effect. I realised that I could capture the escaping white light, (and make it 'pop' against the golden glow), by holding the camera at a very acute angle to the pleats.

Phew!

I'm not too sure if was worth all the explanation now!

Also, I appear to be obsessed with "Lines"; and, abstract representation...

This shot makes me think of my sexy black dress, my sexy black strappy heels, and my sexy Black by Kenneth Cole.

This shot is not converted to black. It was shot with a black background.

Feelin' a tad uninspired today. I guess I'm just tired and unmotivated :)

We dropped off Jordan today at her mommy's (see day 67). I have to say that after only 2 days with the kid... it exhausted me to no end.

I AM IN AWE of all of you flickr moms and dads out there who are doing this project! I truly have no words for the kind of respect I have for you guys.

Keep it up! You're much appreciated :)

Fresh fruit, lots of it. That's what we need right now. Banana: check. Monkey face: check. :)

And before Joachim tuts at me leaving the house without a coat - it's okay dude, I've got my thermals on.

Today, I was supposed to be arriving in Mississippi for the Society for Creative Anachronism event "Gulf Wars XXXIII".

Instead, I'm at church. Being at church is not in and of itself a bad thing!

I am rigged out in nearly-full-blown SCA garb, as I would have been had a big terrible problem not happened with my transportation on a 450-mile journey.

My father would have LOVED this photograph of his daughter at 50, I think. Today would have been his 89th birthday.

For 114 Pictures in 2014, this is for theme #78: Dare to Dream. I'm daring to dream that I may be able to GO on my vacation trip tomorrow, if things all work out ...

Gerrard participated (mostly) patiently in today's experimentation with fill flash. He has an x-ray tomorrow to determine whether he has an outstanding health issue from before I adopted him, so wish us luck!

It consumes me like a fire within my bones

Hair flip fail. Haha.

For my pictures today, I grabbed a bushel of thorns by accident. It still kinda hurts. Ooops.

yesterday was collaboration number two, kolby wanted to have a pillow fight and well i think he miss understood how katie and i do pillow fights. :D

it was a long long day, and this is how i relieve my frustrations, smacking kolby with a pillow.

i was up at 7am for classes. i got pretty frustrated with my roommate and wasnt in the best mood. i video chatted with kolby and figure this pic out too bad katies comp was being lame and couldnt join us. then i went to a show to take some pics for some friends. my roommate got me a parking ticket and then i headed over to my friends to chill for a bit. randomly met the neighbors from my friends apartment when i was walking to my car, how they recognized me im not really sure. i got locked out of my apartment. and then at 4am a friend from des moines was in town and called me to hang out. finally got to bed at 7 in the morning.

24 hours baby.

I really wanted to do a decent tribute to the awesome WHEREISHERE to commemorate the end of his 365. Unfortunately i am lacking many of the key ingredients: a perfectly symmetrical bald head, a shiny metal box, bitchin green pumas, a sexy wife to pose with, a gas mask, a donkey mask, wicked cool talent, the list goes on and on. So i resorted to copying a Vic pose, tried to throw in some Vic green, and topped it off with a Vic overlay. And i basically crippled myself trying to get this shot because, after several knee surgeries, this is pretty much the most painful position for me to be in. All for you buddy. You rock. Congrats.

Today's Random Fact: Last night i was bemoaning the fact that i don't have a photographic "style" the way so many people i admire here do. I was feeling like there wasn't a signature thing that i did well or consistently--except for that smirky thing that you all love (to hate) so much. But when i look at this shot...it totally feels like me. Which sucks in this case, 'cause i wanted it to look like Vic! Sheesh. Sometimes you just can't win.

I GOT A JOB OFFER TODAY!!! I'm most likely going to be taking it. It's for a group called Grassroots Campaigns. They work on organizing volunteers to canvass neighborhoods for progressive issues and running voter drives. I'll get to stay in the Twin Cities for the time being and the house I'm moving into for the summer will be right down the road from the office, which is only a few blocks off campus. So to celebrate I am taking on the carefree attitude of today's Flickr Group Roulette Supernova of Ugly Couch Surfing, Aloha Thursday, and Half Nekkid Thursday. I don't have Hawaiian shirts so I hope the sunglasses will do the job.

Day 68 - Mar 9th: Theater of Dreams

My wife gave me tickets for the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" for my birthday and we finally went to see it today. A fantastic show in Nurembergs "Schauspielhaus". We really had a great time. I love the songs, always have. A lot of people showed up dressed as one of teh characters and the show was kind of interactive with the audience throwing all kinds of things related to the action on stage.

Delving into our daily lives a bit, we dropped at McDonald's for drinks after the gym. A coffee for my mom, and teas for him and me. I told him to give me an angry face, grr!, and this is what I got. LOL!

Nikon J1 fully into auto and SOOC. All I did was crop. Used the 30-110mm.

You wont believe how long I had to hold my breath for in order not to get any ripples in the water.

The Challenge: Take one self portrait each day for a year.

Each day, take a self portrait, tag it with "365days", and submit it to the pool. It's that simple!

Day 68 - March = Grey.

Seeing as our local B&Q doesn't stock the entire Dulux colour matching range of sample cards, I had to resort to cutting up colour guides from various paint suppliers!

Thanks to my facebook friends for suggesting 50 Shades - though this may not be what they were expecting :-)

I was too busy to take a picture yesterday, and there was a huge forest fire like 15 minutes away from my house. Scary stuff. :o

Today I broke up with my boyfriend, I wasn't aware that it would hurt this much.

Me trying to pin up the background I wanted to use for my Day 68. You can't see it too much in the actual photo, but I wanted to cover up some of the dining room clutter ^_^

So yeah.

The shot of this Woodland Group Mercedes Benz Actros truck was taken from the Moss Lane bridge, Whittle-le-Woods as the truck was passing junction 8 heading North.

The Woodland Group is a specialist logistics and global supply chain management company.

A simple shot for today at Gas Works park. I felt that the pictures of me in mid-air were getting kinda old, so I added some clones. Just a note, the one on the far right didn't have an arm in the original shot. I think it disappeared behind my back. This was interesting. I had fun today.

I made a stranger smile today. On Capitol Hill, I was playing around about liking pho (rather loudly) and pronounced it as foe. He thought I was demented. ;]

Yes, yes, it was the end of the working day and I was just heading out to pick Juliana so an easy as shot of the, probably, near death flowers on the table was in order to get something out the way. I’m off tomorrow so perhaps I will make a bit more of an effort, or maybe not. It’s difficult to tell, and why make grand plans for a day off.

On reflection I think building, as the first thing I’ve done for close to decades, a play house may be a bit ambitious. Cue the much easier, and therefore more likely to be morale boosting, idea of a mud kitchen. If it looks rough and ready, obviously that was the intention. If it falls down, it doesn’t have a child (or me) in it to get a nail through the head. Everyone’s a winner.

So part of tomorrow is probably going to revolve around looking at things I need, which is likely to include a jigsaw for which I am, bizarrely, excited about. Initially I had though I could go get timber and so on, but it turns out my car is actually quite short inside and the 2.4m lengths would be unlikely to fit.

Feeling largely devoid of ideas today. Took this on my way home from work. Must find an excuse to get inside the McEwan Hall for photo a day purposes at some point.

FD with a round thing! Someone stopped his car and asked if I'm alright ... oops! I apologized shortly, was not in the condition to talk more, as I just left the dentist who extracted a wisdom tooth.
