Posing for me in the setting sun last evening - the 4th calendar month that our special overwintering warbler has been here! We got home from a late walk at the wetlands (saw 2 butterflies!) so it was almost 6pm when I went out to refill Bark Butter. He chirped and talked to me (I may post videos later) and posed for shots about 3 feet from me in the setting sun. Setophaga dominica albilora

I was looking at fashion articles and was inspired to do my hair differently today. =P You can't see the style, but the light theme was inspired by the hair.. (I'm now a firm believer in lightboxes btw. *lol*) I like how it turned out. =D
I might have done a bigger crop.. but i wasn' very happy with my posture. 9_9 but, i do like the close framed look.. I think it adds a bit of mystery. =P
-Day64-
Day 64 - Instead of procrastinating and trying to think of a photo idea for today, I'll use a portrait that I took today in class. This is one of my classmates posing for the assignment we had today.
sunshine through my window :)
I'm pretty sure I've had those starry night sheets since I was like 13.

For The Weekly Alphabet Challenge - J for jolly - I may be pushing my luck but it was jolly good fun doing this! My first attempt at doing this, will definitely have another go.
Just noticed there is a bit of the end of a clip in the corner and a speck that could be a bubble but looks like dirt, shame I didn't notice before uploading!
I'm bored. and when I'm bored I eat a lot. mmh, I always eat a lot. so.. I'm always bored? :ù
I'm not able to take SP with the 50mm (okay, I'm not able to take self portrait at all). I need a remote T_T

We had a fairly significant snowstorm today. I haven't seen the official amounts but we had 7 - 8 inches in our 'hood. So off we went, him manning the snow thrower, me with the shovel. First the steps, then the driveway, then the right of way, then the neighbors. This is the neighbors fence.

My addiction: light.
The plan to go for a swim - in the pool - quickly changed when I drove by the tracks and saw the light; after-the-storm light, evening at that, is my favorite light, so I went back home, ditched the swim, grabbed my camera, and headed over to the Spec Towns tracks, in a hurry, as the sun was setting.
These bleachers are actually grey concrete but looking into the sun, they glowed in a metallic gold. In the back you can see the silhouette of the Butts-Mehre building (and yes, that really is its name).
Erase una chica entrenando.
A pesar de las duras condiciones climaticas (1°c), para esta chica, no existe excusa para tomar una pausa de invierno en sus entrenamientos.

When I saw these gas tanks arranged like a police line-up (complete with chains), I couldn't resist getting a mug shot. Who do you think did it? Red looks a little scruffy to me.
I have already shot a similar photo this year but I wanted to use one blue match an the pink matches in a photo. My original idea did not work out as planned so went for the easy way out.
Thanks again for all your visits and comments - they are much appreciated.

What is it? I am guessing that this will be fairly easy to figure out.
Going to keep this brief today, feel like crap. Confined to my quarters with flu... you don't want to hear the details.
I've assembled some suitable reading to keep me company.

It was a gorgeous evening tonight. Patchy clouds to provide texture for the sunset. Warm enough to finally hang out outside without a jacket. And everyone at Marina Park was just in a good mood. I had a quick chat with a fellow photographer who was out there shooting panoramas. I showed this evening's jumping series to a nice couple who was curious why I was jumping up and down on the dock. It was just a good evening all around.
As a side note, jumping up and down near the edge of a rickety dock is a bit nerve-wracking, even more so with my back towards the water. I just wanted to make sure nothing else but the scenery was in the background of my shot. :)
We're Here - If you had just one shot?
No retakes allowed on this one. So why would I choose a complicated shot that requires lining things up and getting the lighting just right? Because I am EEEEDIOT!!! On the other hand, it was very instructive. It's easy now with digital to take a bazillion shots until you get it right. I found it an interesting challenge to set everything up in my head first, then have only one chance at getting it more or less right. I had a cute little candy cane taped to the sign by the way...but had it on the wrong side, so it's behind the poinsettia (which is left over from last Christmas).
