so you may remember an earlier off take to this scene on day57---have a look here
so i thought for a different view to add to the collection ---this day was 299 almost like the day before a celebration danny gets ready for a late night snack -- the power had been off for awhile and messed up his timer on the microwave and he wasn't sure if it was 4:43 in the morning but none the less it was supper time somewhere in the world so why not join in ------
specs --sb-800 hiding inside microwave shooting directly at me 1/20th power
sb-80dx on floor shooting upwards at my hand and the food dish 1/64th power
both fired via nikons cls
after the 2 flashes went off i lightpainted the orange color on the side and top of the microwave for 3-4 seconds ------ i had to add the LP in there after i seen the 2 flashes go off and there was still some light missing to fill the scene and i only got 2 flashes --so after the selftimer went off the shutter stayed open and thats when i lightpainted the rest -----
Almost everyday I cross this bridge and I like to study its interesting construction. In the backgroung you see the landmark of my hometown, the so called „Schwammerlturm“ (mushroom tower), illuminated by the mild evening light.

I bought myself a Manfrotto 804RC2 Tripod Head at the Focus on Imaging show at the NEC on Monday. Mum and Dad kindly bought me a Manfrotto 190XProB tripod to go with it as my birthday present, but unfortunately my birthday isn't for another 5 weeks, so I've got a tripod head to put to good use until then.
I've found they make good bottle stoppers....anyone got any other ideas?

thanks to the fine folks at flickr and my sidekick, i have a really good answer whenever people on the street ask me how eric is doing and if i have any pictures in my wallet.
while i don't have any in my wallet, i do have over 200 "in" my phone :-)
( don't get me wrong, the original sidekick sucks in every other possible way and shouldn't be used if you want anything resembling a reliable phone. but i guess i can't say anything about the new model ).
perhaps you have never had the occasion to try out the site on the small screen, but a lot of hard work has obviously gone into getting things to work quite smoothly.
incidentally, cell phones are banned in the nicu, but i believe the banishment is for social and not technical reasons, since you can often hear civilian's cell phones going off ( i.e. someone in the area probably always has a phone on and it doesn't cause any problems ) and some of the hospital staff ( respiratory techs in particular ) take calls on cell phones while they are in room. so, while i don't take calls, i'm usually available for instant messaging or answering flickr photo comments.
Day 57:
I have to wonder if the gummy bears will ever get tired of messing around with
things. I mean you name it and they have gotten into it. Even places I wouldn’t
go, they will. For example. I was trying to use the restroom and of course they
happen to follow me. They start crawling around in my shorts which is a bit much
for me. Sorry, but I don’t want any of them hiding out and still be in there when I
pull them back up.
So I shooed them away and went about my business. They then decided to climb
up into the wall heater which we don’t use because it doesn’t work properly. We
had to use it Thanksgiving morning last year because the water heater for our
section of the apartment died, thus leaving us with ice cold water. The heater
ended up setting the smoke alarm off. Not a fun morning.
I told the gummies that if they got stuck I wasn’t going to get them out. It’s full
of dust and I don’t want to sneeze, rub my eyes and be stuffed up all night. That
is pretty much how I spent yesterday and don’t want to repeat it. They are still as
of right now, instead the heater.
One thing this weeks theme of street photography is teaching me is that when you see a pic you have to nail it first time.
I wish I'd used a faster shutter speed on this to make the woman sharper, but that's (365) life I guess. I mulled over whether to use this for my photo of the day or to choose one of my sharper focused others, but there was something about this woman's expression that I liked as she noticed the skeletons in the window behind her.
Today is Halloween, woo! But, the bad thing is I don't feel too well... :(
But a good thing is that today is warmer then yesterday! :)

It was a hot one today folks. I kept myself inside most of the day working on editing photos, creating CD's, printing invitations, making photo collages....all for various clients. But, my car was in desperate need for a good wash so I thought I'd take a break and go sweat it out a bit.
This is my first brand new car...ever. Every car I had as a kid growing up was of course, VERY used. But I've always taken great pride in my cars, and love hand washing and detailing them. I once contemplated opening my own car detail shop. Every once in a while, usually winter, do I go to one of those car wash stalls. I hate those things. And the drive through ones....oh no, no, no. Only in desperate measures do I venture into those.
Once I had an old '92 Volvo 240 4-door. The boxy one. I loved it. I would hand wash that thing, wax it, and even change the oil myself. But that thing looked brand new. I tell ya, if you take care of your S#%T, it will last. People are so quick to just dispose of stuff, it makes me ill. I'll stop now before I get on a 15 page rant.
So this brand new car of mine is now about 5 years old, and people still ask me if it's new, because one: I don't use my car as a storage unit, and two: because it still smells new.
You will usually only find an umbrella, and jumper cables in the trunk (of course the spare and such, which hey, I can change a flat myself even). No dead bodies of course :) So, if and when I should ever sell my car, the next owners will be proud owners of a well kept machine.
Twas today at 11am when she left.
Now all my flickr friends can finally see my girlfriend :P
we smile as I will probibly not see her for two mounths.
She, being the beautiful and talented and special person that she is. She has a amazing tallent for baking and pastries. She graduated and has now left on a trip to Dent island
Thats "Dent Island" resort.
I held a front when saying goodbye. I wanted to be strong for her. I told her I loved her. I wished he a safe trip, I told her I would miss her, but that I was so unblivibly happy for her. This job is amazing, check out the website and tell me what you think.
She left... I broke... yet it was a mix of happy and sad tears.
I've been dating Danyale for almost two years. I love her so much. She now lives with my family and above my room. I couldn't of been more greatful. yet now she's gone.
she gets four days every now and then off. she might sometimes come down to hang out with us sometimes, but mostly stay up there.
This is a very expencive resort, with a amazing renown sheff. She is so lucky and not just luck, they hired her because I think they knew she was cut out for it, or at least thats what I think..
I'll miss you so much.
Your goodmornings,
Your love,
Your hugs.
Your Tickles,
Your smile.
I love you Danyale, may your trip be safe and your stay full of great learnings and fun. You will always have a home to come to, and open arms to fall into.
I will always love my Duck, for I am your Quack.
#day57 #57of366 TheVines
Many of the London Planetrees in The Vines fell victim to the Great Storm of 1987. The smaller trees are those which were planted to replace them, the large one is a survivor
"The Vines Gardens is a small park with a rich cultural history. With an impressive avenue of mature London Plane trees, bordering a central path known as the Broad Walk the park is a shady and tranquil spot in the centre of Rochester. The Grade II listed gardens were used by monks in the medieval times to cultivate vines and there are interpretation panels within the park with further information about the park’s origins. The park has a number of bat, bird and bee boxes, and the mature shrubberies and colourful herbaceous planting supports other wildlife."
Day 57 of 365 (Year Two)
Week 58, Assignment 2 for Take A Class With Dave and Dave.
Class. This means so many different things, I'm not going to constrain you at all, but any viewershould be able to figure out it's a picture about "class."
So I spent most of the week thinking about how I would show class. I came up with nothing. Every idea I did have, I wasn't able to implement for various reasons. Then today, sitting at work I had an epiphany! There are all sorts of class: high class, low class and then there is this shot. . .No Class! LOL
EDIT: Apparently I think just like a 3 year old! Well, like they say, great minds think alike!
Zadie Smith's White Teeth is the second non-exam book I've read this year. (the first one was Gaiman's American Gods) I really recommend it! When you've finished reading my funky jumper of course...
I feel like I'm getting sick again. After I took this picture I napped for about three hours, and now I'm pretty sure I have a fever. Fantastic... I'm finally wearing the Rocky Votolato bandana I bought back in September. I'm not sure if they're my thing.

(365 Days)
W for February's Alphabet Fun
It was a long pre-wedding weekend of classes, I am so tired uffffff
have a great night ♥
I got my pup back half an hour ago, i missed her so much this weekend! it´s all new to her too, so she is a bit confused and it shows in her behaviour. Or should i say misbehaviour...
Everytime i meet Kita after even a very short break, she re-evaluates our relationship and the whole pack and her own place in it. so i must be very firm with her when all i want to do is cuddle with her on the couch. that is not a good idea with this dog, she is so dominating and a bit of a hard-ass, it is best for her that i just show her her place when she comes back and ignore her for a while.
My ex told me that when he tried to leave Kita in his apartment for half an hour she started howling and banging against the front door, so he couldn´t go anywhere without the dog. I foresee problems there....i am the pack leader to Kita and she trusts me, everybody else has to work with her and gain the trust.
and i have a LOT to do with her, training-wise...
We are going out for a long walk later tonight and also early in the morning. it will be really good for me too.
sooc.
P.S. how do you spell that word, is it behavior or behaviour??? somebody help, please, i hate misspelling!
P.S. got it now, thanks to c&a!
Anybody got one of those grippy, rubber jar openers? I can't get into my office.

Another homage, this time to martianmermaid's far superior shot here.
If I'd have realised what a pain this would be to set up I never would've attempted it! :) But this is as near as I could get without dislocating my shoulder. Anyway, one-handed playing - that's how we roll around here ;-)
Extra kudos to mm for the original shot, now that I realise how tricky a set-up it must have been!
Oh, this is also in celebration of StuartMackenzie's weekend trip to Legoland Windsor.
Day 57 of 2015. In 2011, I was at a workshop on networks and philanthropy. I decided to share a meme inspired by Bill Traynor a few years earlier using green pipecleaners to represent reciprocity. I met a program officer named Kate Wing, who worked on oceans and happened to love improv. She took the meme to the next level and gifted me this pipe cleaner shark and remora, which has had a prized place on my desk ever since. How could I not become friends with her?
A year ago, Kate left the safe confines of philanthropy to venture out into new territory. I invited her to be my regular checkin partner as part of an experiment a small group of us have been participating in called colearning. As such, she's basically become my thinking partner, coach, therapist, and very good friend. Today, she gave me homemade bourbon fudge as an early birthday present. It was a Kate-like gesture that touched my soul and that will soon warm my stomach. I'm lucky to have friends and colleagues like her.
i bought a purple v-neck like a month and a half ago, and that same day i went over nichole's house with zac sam and andre and her bf david was there too. so we all hung out and finished painting her room and stuff and her house ate my freaking shirt. for real. like we searched her house, car, everything. it desolved into the abyss. i didn't even get to wear it.
soooo, for christmas she bought me a new one :D :D and a matching necklace<3333 i luff her

Day 57 of 365.
I'm never gonna let you go
I'm gonna hold you in my arms forever
Gonna try and make up for all the times
I hurt you so
Gonna hold your body close to mine
From this day on we're gonna be together
Oh, I swear this time
I'm never gonna let you go
(Never Gonna Let You Go - Sergio Mendes)
I grew up to this song. So classic. Made me travel down memory lane everytime i hear it :)

Britt is having trouble finding a wedding gown. Today we drove three hours north to Seattle to see if they had some different gowns. I don't believe it's so much that she's picky, but definitely has in her mind what she wants, and it's just a matter of finding a gown that has the combination of all the elements she wants. Although she didn't select this gown, she's narrowed it down to two, so she's getting close. As her mother, I think she looks beautiful in every gown, so as a result it doesn't matter to me which one she selects. I have to admit, secretly I've enjoyed the long journey to find the perfect gown for her because it means I get to spend more time with her.
