Last year I went to a workshop on photography with Brett Florens - one of the tips he gave us was to shoot through objects - I loved the idea and shelved it for a day - today was the day.
I focused on the leaves then put a cd in front of my lens - this was the result. I really kind of like it.

I know everyone does this at some point but this is the first time i've done it. I thought it would be a good idea for the circles challenge.
I'm not going to be around much again, this week so will probably have to post my daily pic and run but will catch up with you all as soon as I can.

To be honest, I am not in the mood to shoot lately. I figured since I have no time, no space to shoot, no backdrop, no computer, no PSE, and no raw files maybe this would be a good week to try something new. So, here is a "bench" Monday shot (late post due to severely limited internet access).

Got home too late to take anything good today :\
Semi-annual trip to the dentist to have the pearly whites polished; seemed like the perfect photo op. Thanks to Lisa, my dental hygienest extraordinaire!

Winter is here.
There is something very soothing about a steady snow. Wisps of wind here and there, gusts on occasion, but the not quite blinding glisten of millions upon millions of white flakes drifting in a blur of bright gray has an almost cleansing effect. Standing in it is wonderfully refreshing. Just a tad under freezing.
But snow spits moisture on the camera lens.
I was mentally prodded to use the PANO button on this camera today. As is my nature, I did not leave well enough alone. I attempted to make one at an angle to the horizon then corner back. The result is a shot of my yard complete with a photo-quake.
It gave me a good excuse to make a triangle. I read somewhere that when children play they are actually learning, my guess is that it may be also true for adults.
