I started the morning working on an image for the picnic theme for Macro Monday but couldn't get a composition to my liking. While out on the porch I decided to work with the flowers again with my macro lens on.

On these hot sunny days I try and keep an eye out to make sure the bird bath is full of fresh cool water. There was even a Cooper's Hawk at it today. This Black Capped Chickadee is another visitor of the many coming to quench their thirst.
This Black-chinned Hummingbird was looking pretty grungy, so I went with a grunge preset. I didn't notice until I had the photo on my screen that he has a little bug buddy.

I knew I had something I liked as soon as I saw this on the back of my D300! It's probably my favourite shot of my project 365 so far!

Into the Light - Day 208 - Year 2022

60 % chance of severe thunderstorms with hail and dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning...here they come...and there they stayed, hovering, never making true on their promise.
Inspiration is lacking and wilting, I need to catch it before it poofs completely. At least tomorrow is my day off but I'm not sure what I'll be doing with it just yet.

July 27, 2014; 208/365 (2400/2557)- On our first morning at sea I had set my alarm to wake me up for possible sunrise photos, but Diane woke me up about 10 minutes earlier when she saw the light out our starboard-facing window. I probably took several hundred photos over the next hour or so, no two were ever alike. One of the most amazing sunrise shoots ever for me!

Day 208 ~ 365: the 2013 edition Loved to vacation here in the early 80's.
Beyond a little haze in the air, it's a picture-perfect morning on southwest Michigan's Crescent Lake. Oh, to be out on the lake this morning with a fly rod!
20200726_9660_7D2-400 Little Boxes on the Hillside (208/366)
When I see houses on a hillside like this I think of the song "Little Boxes", a song written and composed by Malvina Reynolds in 1962, which became a hit for her friend Pete Seeger in 1963, when he released his cover version.
Anyway, on my walk on a lovely winter's morning I shot this with a 400mm lens from the South New Brighton Domain jetty, looking across the Avon-Heathcote Estuary (at near full tide) to the suburb of Mt Pleasant. The view is a fraction west of due south.
The yellow car on the Main Road causeway is just under 3km away (2.98km) while the lowest level houses are another 280m further away. The road heading up the hill near the left hand edge is Maffeys Road.

I've been meaning to take a shot of these flowers (I think they may be chives) in Jim's garden for a while. I only got round to doing so today - you know, thinking about bokeh Wednesday and all that (?). :)~
