120 pictures in 2020 #4 Antique

(this belonged to my grandmother and quite possibly to my great-grandmother)

So, I am trying to decide what to do with my photo project. I enjoy taking and sharing pictures and viewing and commenting on other's images but have found it is consuming too much of my time. I have some items in my life that need more attention than my photography hobby so I am going to limit my time on Flickr so I can achieve some different goals. I want to continue with my project but am worried my images will not be the quality that I prefer. Hmmm, what to do?

Day 165 2017 365 (C)

Max enjoying the sun after a dip in Faversham Creek.

"On the street where you live

Girls talk about their social lives

They're made of lipstick, plastic and paint

A touch of sable in their eyes

All your life all you asked

When is your Daddy gonna talk to you

But we're living in another world

Tryin' to get your message through

No one heard a single word you said

They should have seen it in your eyes

What was going around your head..

...She's a little Runaway."

(Bon Jovi)

Thanks for all the love folks.

And so ends the last day of my week off. My poor little legs I tell you - I've been socialising like a pro! I'm even out again tonight on the South Bank! Whee!

A train at Sheringham station, Norfolk. Apologies for the lack of comments yet again, we have been away with no internet access.

The view from my jean pocket.

This bra does wonders for me but it isn't a wonder bra, just a wonderful bra.

The shadows do funky things with this but I like funky.

Punched the colors up before dosing it with acid.

365 Days

FGR invades Grocery Stores and The Karate Kid Crane...

We improvised...daughter's idea...she remembered the little miniature shopping cart we had. Getting Evildog in a grocery store was going to be a major deal; we just made our own!

+1 in comments.

I just spent the last hour editing this photo so its my 365 for the day, even though I was initially going to use a different one I shot with my friend in the pic. There's more work here than it appears. I had to stitch together 3 images to get this final square and I didnt shoot accordingly to be able to do that in an easy way.

I look REALLY pale in this. REALLY pale. It's freaky weird.

Anyway, so my friend Selda came to pick me up today so we can go out and shoot. She has a pic here from a while ago and I said "I want to go to there" (for all the 30 Rock fans out there) so she took me there :-) We did a whole bunch of different pics/shoots so yay :D

Group admins: I dont add to groups I am not a part of and I dont join most groups so dont be offended that I'm not going to add my pics to your groups.

There I was having a ramble round my P.C. I have a look at my desk top and there he is putting rabbit ears on me

Another "great sky day" so I took a ride out to Huggate and managed a couple of photos over the farmer's gate

I shared this dish with friends who came over my place. I cooked this vegetarian fusilli with zucchini, eggplant, sun dried tomatoes and a little bit of chicken breast (plus two more dishes).

Eat well and be healthy dear friends, it’s not good to get sick these days. Have a colorful and fabulous week!!

20190614_7227_7D2-150 Looking west from the airport (165/365)

Due to grandson Ethan being unwell, my son asked me to take granddaughter Kaylee to school on the other side of the city, a city that was covered in low cloud. mist and patches of fog.

But out near the airport I could see the clear sky a few km to the west, so after dropping Kaylee at school headed west to clear skies.

The two grey lines that look like a fence are the taxi way (closest one) and main runway at Christchurch International Airport.

Song by The Rolling Stones

Tell everybody waiting for Superman

That they should try to hold on the best they can

He hasn't dropped them, forgot them or anything

It's just too heavy for a Superman to lift

Saw Man of Steel today and cried and cried and cried. You guys. Superman is a problem for me.

Two important take aways from the film: Lois Lane uses Nikon. Clark Kent is a Royals fan.

A perfect package of VERY delicious Strawberries

Waterfalls are pretty much none existent in Lincolnshire, a weir is the next best thing!

FGR - My favorite body part

I guess it must be my legs. So many other parts are just not keeping up with my mental image of myself. My midsection is growing, my eyes are blurry, I only hear what I want to hear anymore and don't get me started on the internal organs....

A seedy little guy was following me today. He got seeds I got poses :)

Day 165 of 365

Week 22, Assignment 1 for Take A Class With Dave and Dave.

(Tis best viewed LARGE)

Eyes - It is said that the eyes are the window to the soul. I'm not really sure what that means, but it's cool, right? For this assignment, let's focus on the eyes. Just to be clear -- the photo must include at least one animal eye (yes, humans are animals). No needles. No hurricanes.

I had totally forgotten that eyes were one of the assignments for Take A Class With Dave and Dave when I did yesterday's shot. I don't take many eye shots as a rule so two in a row is quite rare. Yesterday's shot was all about the flash gel and experimentation and I'm not even considering it as a submission.

Tonight's shot is most likely my submission for week 22, assignment 1. I'm a pirate at heart (or at least the newly romanticized version of them) and as it says in the assignment, the eyes are the window to the soul.

june 14, 2013

We have several turkey hens bringing their chicks around to our birdseed and water. This is one of a group of 7 chicks. Actually they have grown quite a bit since they were first brought around. Took this from my kitchen window.

Male Wild Turkeys provide no parental care. Newly hatched chicks follow the female, who feeds them for a few days until they learn to find food on their own. As the chicks grow, they band into groups composed of several hens and their broods.

Since today is Flag Day here in the USA, I thought I would add a bit of bird and USA trivia. The tale that Benjamin Franklin wanted to have the Wild Turkey as our national bird is just a myth. So where does this myth come from? Back in 1784, Franklin wrote a letter to his daughter in which he disapproves of the country adopting the bald eagle as our national symbol. He claims that the drawing that had been produced looked like a turkey anyway and that such a bird would actually be preferable to the eagle. Franklin explained that the bald eagle had a “bad moral character” and was a “rank coward” that merely steals from other birds. YEP, perfect symbol for the Trump regime!

For my ongoing bird-a-day project for 2017. Thanks all!

Glass

I spent the day at the Corning Museum of glass. Wonderful place. We saw several demonstrations of glass making and I actually won a vase. Very exciting as I almost never win anything.

I had to briefly help my Dad fix the fence today as it had blown over from the winds, and when it came to cutting down the bolts he suggested I get a photo of the sparks flying everywhere. I must admit its worked out pretty well!
