30 Day Challenge: Day 16 - Fruit
Explored! Thanks so much everyone!
Thanks to SophieG for the inspiration!
It’s a bittersweet feeling I have today as it would be the last day of some of the people I got to know at work. It’s ironic too as today is May Day. Some have not fully absorbed what happened and still in shock. I am thankful I was retained but I feel so bad for them, I feel their pain and anxiety. I have shared with them my favorite quote “Every adversity has within it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit.” All I can do is pray for them, support them emotionally and wish that they may be able to find a job soon.
What a week it has been! I wish my friends / co-workers all the best. I believe that every leaf has a new beginning especially on spring time.
HNFF and TGIF!!

i gotta go prepare for office chair jousting.
goodnight and God bless.
I couldn't find inspiration for faceless portraits today but whilst thinking about things around the idea of heads but not faces I thought of pins. So my favourite reflective surface came to my aid.
Posting and running for now. I will catch up with your photos later tonight.
National Drinking Straw Day
On January 3, 1888, the first artificial drinking straw was patented. More of the history of the invention can be found here..... www.checkiday.com/5ccf9666571c40b4fb1f2fefacccf935/nation...

in our house, we have eschewed single-use plastic/plastic coated drinking straws in favor reuseable sturdy plastic, stainless steel or silicone ones.

Street Art
They say Penge is the new Shoreditch... well I don't know about that but I had a lovely afternoon doing a walking tour of the local street art.

for the Hereios -who are visiting 'This..'.
and 92/115 - blooming
84/215 - I do like simple flower shots
I think this week's theme is actually "lame photos" and not "faceless portraits" - well for me anyway!
I am behind with comments but will catch up during the week - sorry about that!
Fascinating visit today www.margatecaves.co.uk/about and the Shell Grotto www.shellgrotto.co.uk

I still haven't seen any adult mergansers watching over these ducklings but it seems they are watching over each other.
It was rainging again today, so I couldn't do the outdoor shoot I had planned, but i think this turned out nice, even though it's books again... I like books.

One of the coolest cereal premium offers ever made was in 1953-1954 and perhaps other years? On Wheaties boxes were mini license plates from the USA and the World. Here are: top to bottom: California, '53 that wonderful black and yellow motif; Colorful Colorado, '53; Michigan Water Wonderland, '54; Hawaii
( I thought I'd hit the jackpot finding that one, year un-known; and Wyoming, with the bucking bronco, 1953. It was perhaps not the wisest use of metal but we sure loved them and they often ended up as license plates for our bikes. These are a few of the 20 some I found. I wish I had a complete set. If this were offered today, they'd be one tenth the size and plastic surely. Now, for those E-Bay prices.....hummm
20220611_1145_7D2-200 High Tide, Strong Wind (162/365)
While most of the country has bad weather (heavy rain, thunderstorms, small tornadoes, snow etc) we here in Christchurch have had it pretty good. It rained for an hour or so last night (2mm in the rain gauge this morning), but despite a forecast of rain today it has been clear and sunny, although the wind picked up early afternoon.

Very early today, I couldn't sleep and this song kept swimming in my head
"When the sun is high in the afternoon sky
You can always find something to do
But from dusk till dawn as the clock ticks on
Something happens to you
In the wee small hours of the morning
While the whole wide world is fast asleep
You lie awake and think about _________(fill the blank) = Life
And never ever think of counting sheep"

Signs of ageing, Autumn leaves have almost finished their downfall, some are still hanging on for dear life and my favourite season is gone for another year....till we meet again next year.
Another cold and wet day here today...thinking of those of you enjoying the sun at the other end of the earth.

A book for my son, everyday tools & equipment, feathers to photograph and hot homemade chicken noodle soup. It is hot outside and humid, a bit cooler in the house, but hot soup cools and I like carrots.

Somewhat still secluded as the state slowly opens.
Keeping a creative mind occupied has benefited.

Restlessness. Unrest. Restoration.

Better than the one I used for Crazy Tuesday yesterday, but it is Wednesday here in New Zealand so would be cheating if I replaced the one on the Crazy Tuesday group.

Yet another day when time got the better of me so, my dinner is today's offering. Fennel, pea, mint, parsley and feta spaghetti...delicious, although I guess you may not think so if you are a meat eater ;)
My friend Jake recently acquired a Hitech big stopper. I took him to Craigendoran today so he could do some proper experiments with his new gadget. Of course, I took some shots myself. Here's one from the lot. This is SOOC except for my conversion to mono.
Your comments and faves always appreciated and thanks for your visits!

My new Sigma 150-600mm lens arrived today and this thing is a BEAST. I apologise in advance for the inevitable incoming wave of wildlife photos.
Shot on iPhone 6.
Headed off for a morning run on a cold, somewhat wet morning. At least the drizzle meant cool reflections.
A friend is busy harvesting his pine trees and has got some contractors in with serious gear. This beast can cut down a 50ft tree, then strip and saw into logs all in about 45 seconds. Six-wheel drive with optional caterpillar tracks over the top of the front pairs of wheels. Not cheap!
