I'm trying to get my karmic balance realigned after all the recent violence, but the bastard just..won't...BLOODY...WORK!!!
I AM A VERY FUCKING CALM LEAF ON A BEAUTIFUL BASTARD BREEZE.
Fuck it. I'm going out for cocktails.
i spotted them a few days back. Tonight, mom led them down the driveway next door and across the street to eat. I was not ready, but didn't want to miss them. A bit blurry, but I got them. They are so sweet.
happy monday to ya all.
for the Macro Monday group. This week's theme is "Beauty in the Everyday".
I mentioned yesterday I would be heading out to the coast after work and catching the sun going down. Clearly, unless the sea has gone green and streaky, there was something about that plan that didn't come off. Largely the fact that this field is two minutes away from work and had been freshly cut. I got my lunchtime shot in 5 minutes and sat, ate my lunch and enjoyed the sunshine for the remaining 55. Every work lunch this year has been racing off somewhere or other so this was a pleasant novelty. Couldn't get used to it though.
The trio of delicate grass... with bokeh.
What would I do without the garden to save me for last minute daily photos... and most importantly - what happened to my ideas for the project! where are all these people portraits that I were to take...?
Having some fun working with my flash and the mirror. First image processed in Lightroom and tweaked with Photoshop CS3. Liking how everything works so far.

today i hate this 365 project. i am most definitely in a photo funk.
There are a few things which are sure to instantly recharge my creative batteries, and stop me sinking into intellectual indolence. And this book is one of them. Highly recommended if you need a dose of positivity in your life.

I think the sea brings out the best in me.
It calms my spirit.
I think it was good for me to be at the sea today - not so hot for my flu, but definitely good for my soul.
A ray of sunshine
Lovely scent of fresh flowers
A pleasant breeze
Are a gift from God above
And He also gives us faithful flickr friends
To warm our hearts with love :)

It's fitting that the Columbine make it into my stream, considering it's Colorado's state flower and all. Now, how about a little lesson . . .
The genus name Aquilegia is derived from the Latin word for eagle (aquila), because the shape of the flower petals are said to resemble an eagle's claw. "Columbine" is derived from the Latin word for pigeon (columba).
~ who knew??
Gold: Golden field leader of the Metal Men who can stretch his body almost infinitely.

Not sure what model, I think Fleetline, although it may have said Styleline on the side. Will need to go back...
I don’t know anything about him except that his name is Stuffy. And he likes to hang out in trees.

The Okanagan is not a particularly lush region but the unusual amount of rain sure worked its magic. Everywhere I look I see scenes like this.

First shot with my powershot G10 which i purchased as an alternative to carrying my dslr around.I apolagise for my lack of activity over last week or two but we are having problems with our internet speed i keep getting timed out alarms due to the length of time pages are taking to load????
I had set off with the intention of going to the London Eye. The sky was pretty flat so decided to go to South Kensington instead. This was the tunnel that I attempted to photograph on Sunday.

Those of you who listen to Bob Dylan will recognise the title. I've come to really love his music in the past year. Definitely because of a tribute-ish mixtape K'naan did with some of his tracks. Absolute genius mixtape and one of the best albums (well, its a mixtape but w/e) from the last year. What's better is it can be downloaded free HERE. There's 2 other mixtapes too in the same style - one celebrating the music of Fela Kuti and the other of Bob Marley. If you dont know, K'naan is a Somalian rapper who I've been madly in love with (his music) since I was first shown his music when he first came out yeeears ago. The current World Cup 2010 anthem is by him so major props to him!
Anyway, anothing sh oe/l eg (I cant write these as single words thanks to all the feti shists) shot. New sho es. Even though my leg is still really messed up (oh and this huurrt a lot after the first few shots) I plan to wear these in 2 weeks. Oh well, lot of sitting down for me I guess :)
This youngster was demanding food on the spot. The adult bird found a nice big bee for him/her.
These thrashers are common in the southwestern part of the US.
For my ongoing bird-a-day project for 2017. Thanks all!
Shot on iPhone 5.
Nothing really to say. It's a shot of some leaves and a grate around a tree. On well, still in the game.
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes a couple of days ago. And for the support for Queensland last night in the State of Origin. My birthday was a great day, unfortunately Queensland lost the game. Don't worry - it's a best of 3 series. You'll have a chance again to cheer them on later in the 365.
