Into the Light - Day 155 - Year 2022

---------------------------------------------------

As individual as they naturally are.

In life we will all have times that aren't the easiest for us but with courage and perseverance we can weather the toughest of storms.

A beautiful day out with friends at Wrest Park, Bedfordshire.

An alternate version of yesterday's picture which I quite liked.

if you turn down your radio down, or put your windows up, mute your tv and shush the crowds around you, you can hear summer right around the corner.

the sun will tan our skin and blind our eyes. sand will singe our feet and be made into vulnerable castles. bathing suits will be worn to bed and salt water will prune our fingers.

hopefully tomorrow will be spent with some great company and warm hands (: by the way, nicole murphy kicked major ass at her piano recital!

goodnight and God bless.

OK, don't laugh now .. I've been working on those biceps for 8 months now!!!

Actually going to the gym is a more recent addition to my lifestyle in response to an ongoing muscle condition that I have. It's called Fibromyalgia and because I have a mother who has been ill in one way or another most of her life I have refused to give in to any sickness.

Getting fitter has done lots for me; I've lost weight & toned up, reduced my cholesterol and to top it off I believe my fibromyalgia is getting a bit better too.

Day 155

Today was the first day that I have used almost the same photo for my daughter's 365 and my own. I just didn't feel like thinking up an idea for a sp, and I already had this one that I was in today.

I spent most of today cleaning the house, top to bottom. I took a break in the middle of the day to finally say yes to a tea party with my daughter.

We made it real instead of pretend, and had lunch on the kitchen floor, with clementine juice in the tiny teapot and teacups, toasted pita bread with cinnamon, dry cornflakes, yogurt, chickpea crunchies (roasted chickpeas), and applesauce.

Do you know how long it takes to eat a little applesauce with a teeny tiny tea set spoon?? It takes FOREVER ;)

Day 155 - 365/2023 - A Never-Ending Journey

It has not been a good day. I hate my job.

...and then I woke up.

dam - I'm back! well, I returned to the location of my day 50 shoot and even shot the same subject. The lighting and angle I took are different enough and day 50 was long enough ago that I thought a repeat wouldn't be too bad. In fact, I have a few outtakes that I'm not going to post because I plan on going back to take them later (I live close enough anyways).

I'll not give myself a pat on the back for the most inspired title ever....

This is a view through the ruined arch towards Lanercost Priory. I seem to have been here quite regularly of late but I think this is a first for this view, so that's good. Its beautiful and warm at the moment and I feel less inclined to travel rapidly as far as I can go in my lunch hour. I've preferred opting for leisurely strolls in the sun. Thankfully, green leaves and blue skies make everything look different.

I bought my new wellies, and threw away the old ones. And they looked so nice and clean sitting in the car I opted to come here where I didn't need to wear them. Needless to say they'll be pressed into use before long.

Its quite normal to have a lull in your 365 and then moan about it. I know, because I've done the same thing. And I've done in more than most. So, I thought I'd take this opportunity to say I'm going through a most enjoyable and rewarding phase of my project. There, I said it. I'll go back to moaning because the sun is too hot and the like tomorrow.

Happy veterans day!, unlike most of the schools in my area, my school was open and in full swing, so as usual it was pretty boring and tiring.

Phys. ed. is actually pretty hard (I'm not that athletic, plus at my old grade school all we did was play dodgeball or kickball...)

Anywho, I got home around 3:30, and then at 4 me and Adrianna were scheduled to drive with our instructor for 2 hours, and then at 6 we had our drivers ed classes until 7:45, and I got home around 8ish,

I just finished my homework too *yawns*

oh, this is a view from one of my old kalaidoscopes (spellcheck?), :)

goodnight :D

This is my shy little Bilbo...now 13 years old. he has never been a big fan of photo shoots....

Might be the picture of the day.... haven't decided yet!

I do have some more... I will post them if I ever get time.

Kinda not motivated to go climbing today...

I hate that Flickr featured a photo of my cat socks so here's the photo of my cat socks with an actual nice photo at 99% opacity layered on top of it

.

.

I've decided that I'm going to make this a 'wild card' photo so it'll be different every week, enjoy

Frodo was sure that the map said home was this way...

Also, what is up with the shiny frodo hair?

Just under 170 years ago the Silvereye self colonised New Zealand (from Australia), although the odd bird had been seen since the 1830s. The Maori name Tahou means "new arrival".

It was raining when I shot this and the flash (using a Better Beamer Flash Extender) has picked up highlights on the wet leaves in the background.

The sky is always a good option when you have no idea what to shoot :)

A purple pond-lily leaf amongst the more typical green ones. My assumption is that the purple leaf is younger, having just broken the surface of the lake. This is the Yellow Pond-Lily (Nuphar advena).
