Have a fantastic week everyone!! Be safe in whatever you do, where ever you are or in whatever you are chasing for – a sunrise, sunset, your ride, a deadline, a squirrel… - whatever it is, have fun!! :)

Lightning, thunder, hail and hard rain.

It was so good! A good storm.. Scuppered our plans for a lunchtime BBQ but it was worth it.

151/365: 2015

We've been away for the weekend, staying with friends, with no internet and not much chance for photography. As it's my birthday we stopped off for a nice meal on the way home, I had profiteroles for dessert...you wouldn't have liked them! ;)

The bulb-bearing lilies took bloom this morning, small but dramatic display. It was little windy tried to focus in on the ladybird and small spider fascinating watching them just took me back to the TV series the 'land of the giants' :))

When I was a child, I played with a ground cherry like a whistle. I did not know the calyx becomes progressively skeleton if taking care of itself until a few years ago.

From the roots of his hair to the bottom of his chin is 1/10 of a man's height; from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head is 1/8 of his height; from the top of the breast to the roots of the hair will be the 7th part of the whole man. From the nipples to the top of the head will be the 4th part of man. The greatest width of the shoulders contains in itself the 4th part of man. From the elbow to the tip of the hand will be the 5th part of a man; and from the elbow to the angle of the armpit will be the 8th part of man. The whole hand will be the 10th part of the man. The distance from the bottom of the chin to the nose and from the roots of the hair to the eyebrows is, in each case the same, and like the ear, a third of the face.

i thought i'd take the opportunity whilst the park was closed and therefore no kids around to play with these gates which i've had my eye on for some time.

flowering plums are still in full bloom. and i was feeling a bit uninspired today.... so i went for another one of these guys while out on a walk with Chapo.

A couple of years ago, the Brisbane City Council in its wisdom redesigned King George Square in front of city hall, basically turning it into one big slab of concrete with a few stark trees that offer no shade. Not the best design for a subtropical city when it's a hot summer day. On a wet autumn day, however, that big slab of concrete allows for great puddle reflections, particularly when the spindly little trees shed their few leaves.

Dunchideock Barton Farm is a lovely piece of rolling Devon countryside. Apologies for yet another landscape... but it's that time of year. (who am I kidding... the countryside here looks great all year!)

After a hectic start to the year, I was in urgent need of some downtime from work. So I've booked a couple of days off for some 'me' time :)

Hopefully I can get the batteries recharged and get through the next couple of months until my next holiday!

Tomorrow I plan to use my day a bit more constructively, and get out to do some shooting in and around Stafford.

Having some fun in the bathroom at the Shark Club.

Now where did I put my camera? ;-)

I even got brave enough to try singing a new karaoke song, "Closing Time" by Semisonic. I didn't do too badly, either. :-)

book burning has been widely used by oppressive regimes to censor freedom of thought. We've had this event in my hometown with book lightened up with led lights to symbolize culture.

i love space. better on black.

Día 151/365 - Invitación

Se acerca el cumpleaños de Iara. Y este año tenía ganas de hacer una invitación diferente.

Así que nos pusimos manos a la obra. Este es el resultado.

Iara's birthday is near. This year I wanted to make a different kind of invitation to her party.

So we started to work on it. This is the result.

This is yesterday's photo.. maybe. I shot another 6 or so shoots yesterday so it might not end up being my 365 photo.

I met up with the gorgeous and sweet Amy Spanos yesterday to go urbexing. We went to this abandoned derelict asylum and took a gazillion pics, walked around for about 5 hours and only managed to see about 1/4 of it!! The place is huuuuuuuge. I have some cuts on my legs now and loads of bruises which I didnt even notice yesterday but it was worth it. Definitely going again and would love to go with Amy again too since it was an enjoyable and successful day! Thanks a lot for going Amy and I hope you are feeling better (she was stabbed by a giant bear with huge metal claws!)

This particular photo was shot in a burnt staircase. So sad that somebody burnt it but so gorgeous and atmospheric at the same time

It’s been a cloudy, gloomy day. Mr Gray Cloud seems to be the only one who likes this kind of weather. We had a little over a half inch of rain yesterday, which was needed. Now the grass seed I planted will finally start to grow.

During my open period at school, I called Best Buy. They said my camera was ready for me! So today after school I went and picked up my camera. Brand new lens; it is the same as before, but a ultrasonic. Super quiet! I almost don't think it is taking a photograph it is so quiet. Brand new sensor too! But best of all my baby is back. That means the color in my world has returned. Well, somewhat! I got a few things I gotta fix until I am 90% happy.

And just for the record this is my 1,000 photograph on FLICKR!
