Two shots of the same tree -- the Sun, bright spot slightly off center in both shots -- filtered and melded together.
Flight of a hummingbird. This is a female. Thanks everyone for the faves and nice comments.
For my ongoing bird-a-day project for 2017. Thanks all!
this is only the second time i've attempted a self portrait in a public place and i really didn't plan to take one so i didn't have a tripod or remote. i got plenty of funny looks and a couple drunken offers of help (this is Vegas after all) from random passers-by as I ran back and forth, but i felt a bit braver than the last time. :)

Comparison shot from 6 weeks ago...things are getting greener.
I felt like a rest from the tunnels so did a stay at home shot for today. I got this idea from a shot I have seen before - did not quite work out the same but I am happy enough for it to be my shot of the day.
So here's the story - my friend Eric and I were gonna go photo crazy today but you know how I had that problem with my fifty being stuck? (haha it was literally stuck, not figuratively!!) Well it got worse and now it won't focus at all, so I dropped it off at a Canon service center and well, hopefully I'll see it in working condition in about a week. :'(
I am kind of naked without it!
Anyway, Eric still took a ton of pictures - you can see some more at his blog. So my next few uploads will probably all be from this day!
We braved the below freezing weather and hail! Oh the things we do for pictures.
Once again, proof I should always be alone. But I've never needed anyone, but I sure feel like I'm missing out on life a lot of the time.
For a few weeks me and some of my friends, who are into film photography had been planning a quick trip into South Dakota for some photography fun. I woke up this morning with four messages from some of my friends on AIM, key word, friends a term I now use loosely again. They all wished me a happy weekend and hoping I get my camera figured out.
When I got reading the third message, it stated they decided to leave me here being my camera doesn't function 100% and didn't want me becoming upset over missing good photographing spots. This only makes me more upset. I have other cameras, but they didn't think about that. I'm feeling hugely d-i-t-c-h-e-d again. Whatever!
early morning cooking. everything went according to plan. i wish i were better friends with angie and tom. they are fun. so is jay who also joined us today.
ive figured out what im getting most everyone for christmas.
i'm very thankful for neil this year. he has been through all the hard times with me. even if some of the hard times were caused by him. =) he certainly is awesome. im thankful for all my friends back home and the few i have made here. they have made my life so much better than is would have been without them.

Four shots melded
Day 53 at home due to lockdown, the most I do is stay at home, communal courtyard and to Sainsbury's supermarket, a short walk for essentials. This picture is on my walk to the shops today. It's been, and still is a short term sacrifice. Best to be safe than sorry and just wait till I'm given the green light to head back to work in the meantime the daily photos are a challenge some days more than others :) but we'll get through it.

Entertain and amuse yourself to get rid of those Monday blues! I consider myself lucky to be working in an area where museum is just a block away. Have a great week everyone!!:)
The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is the presidential library and museum of the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy. It is located on Columbia Point in the Dorchester section of Boston, Massachusetts, USA, next to the Boston campus of the University of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Archives. It was designed by the architect I. M. Pei. The building is the official repository for original papers and correspondence of the Kennedy Administration, as well as special bodies of published and unpublished materials, such as books and papers by and about Ernest Hemingway. The library and museum were dedicated in 1979 by President Jimmy Carter and members of the Kennedy family. It can be reached from nearby Interstate 93 or via shuttle bus from the JFK/UMass stop on the Boston subway's Red line.

My 365 Project Album: The 2013 Edition.
Short on time today so I used the fish eye lens setting on my camera for the first time (soo 5 months after getting this camera, I finally found this setting today + other cool ones), opened the window, and took a picture. No worries, I was at a red light. ;)

About an hour before mealtime, Flattery starts to worry. What could she possibly have to worry about, you might ask. Well, Flattery worries that she MIGHT be the first Greyhound ever to starve to death in Roanoke. One thing I know is that she will make sure we never, ever forget to feed anyone around here. If she could fill the bowl by sheer force of will, her bowl would be overflowing.
You can read more about Flattery at TalesAndTails.com.
A mysterious collection of small pebbles (most less than 1/2-in diameter) found at the base of a mature Red Oak tree situated about 10 ft from the shoreline of a freshwater lake. The origin of these pebbles is unknown, as there is no known source of such pebbles in the immediate environment. Adding to the composition are a newly-sprouted green herb, several pieces of decaying wood, a couple of flowers dropped by the Red Oak, and a scattering of pine needles from an adjacent White Pine.
