It was quite cold and cloudy, but I enjoy the beach in any weather :o)

Playing with marbles again this morning outside on a mirror so the sky and clouds are reflected in the marble and on the surface. The sparkly material on the mirror is "sparkly white Jurassic star dust play sand". You can find more info at their website - shop.jurassicsand.com/main.sc.
I have challenged myself for the month of May to do the alphabet in some way and to create a book with the images.

On a bike ride with Daddy, our little girl managed to get her little foot jammed in the front wheel :0( Lost quite a bit of skin and bruised it all up, but nothing broken.
She's a brave girl, and didn't make a fuss x x x

I'm in a training camp for 2 weeks, so I can't be here as much as I want to, and I can only take crappy photos. So there will be a lot of film pictures coming in the couple days... and I'm exhausted all day long.

This was going to be my day123 picture but I have been doing about 5 minutes a day on it over the last 2 weeks so figured it should be my first one back up.
10 shots of the toy dinosaur which was shot on the childrens play table then focus stacked in photoshop. This was then cut out and placed into the shot of the woods from behind the pub across the road. Plenty of masking and a bit of work on the exposures, colour and shadows. Overall I'm pretty chuffed with this one.
Lazuli Buntings are only passing through the Davis Mountains in West Texas on their migratory route to the western states to breed. This is a male. I took this photo through a screen so it's a little bit hazy. Lazuli comes from Medieval Latin "lazulus," azure, for the gorgeous blue.

It was a tough day for me, since the PT (physical therapy) has increased and any residual relief from the pain blockers during surgery have dissipated. Not a big fan of narcotics, but appreciating the help they are providing me in the pain department -- side effects not fun, but under control.
Working through the pain with the promise of gaining the best for myself and my mobility in the future. I have had two total knee replacements before. Everyone told me that "they say" the hip is easier. Sorry, folks, I categorize that as 'misinformation'. There are far more restrictions and more cautions.
He...he... took long lunch for 'board meeting' with Oshin for today's assignment ;)

1. I love cereal but can't keep it in my dorm because I've been known to finish a box in two days.
2. I am a coffee snob and my favorite is probably illy. mmmm.
3. I was convinced that I could be a witch when I was in 6th grade (I clearly watched Charmed too much...)
4. I am a whole 20-25 pounds heavier than I was in high school. So that's what college will do to ya.
5. I could probably live off sushi and I am always a bit sad when people who haven't tried sushi shun it off and wrinkle their noses at the thought. MMMM. DELICIOUS.
6. I am currently trying to acquire a taste for beer! Not the usual college dorm-room fare though :P
7. I was born in China and didn't meet my dad until I was almost three when I came to America where he was studying.
8. I am an Economics major but kinda wish I were English.
9. I get extremely attached to characters in tv shows, movies, and books, and will shed tears if something goes badly (e.g., Grissom's leave from CSI!! :( )
10. When I eventually have my own house, I want a very modern Japanese design/styled kitchen.
11. I am a shopaholic. A really, really, really bad one.
12. I kinda have a thing for math/computer geeks...;)
13. I'm only 5'2! I would killlll for a few inches or for longer legs.
14. Speaking of legs, my right calf is significantly larger than my left. It's really unfortunate because I can't fit it into many boots and it's a struggle to put on my skinnier jeans! Gah!
15. I often spend hours going from one photography site/blog to another. It is a deadly time waster but I can never pull myself away from the amazing talent that is out there.
16. Did I mention I enjoy coffee?

Well my dog can do a new trick. I didnt think he would stay on my back long enough to catch it on picture, but he did! And then he got a treat for doing it!

Here's Maisie and one of her favourite toys - a long cardboard box cut with holes. Long weekend - we were playing with her a lot, until she got fed up with us. We have no piece of garment or belongings without her fur on it :) fun, fun, fun! I opened my laptop today, which was not taken out of its case when we lived with Maisie and... away flew Maisie's single fur... I expect to find a few bits in my lungs, too.
Many years ago, when my children were in grade school, I found these Playmobil soldiers on clearance at a toy store and bought three sets. My husband was upset with me for spending the money, but I have never regretted it. :-)

OMG I'm killing myself laughing right now, because I JUST noticed I left my towel rack in the shot!! HAWWW!!! I can't believe I missed that!! Okay I'm leaving it that way, just for fun. That's what I get for shooting in the bathroom, right? I left the reflection in the shower glass in because I thought it looked cool...but totally missed the towel rack!
By the way, I also found out (well after the shoot) that I had my blouse on inside out. LMAO!
