April Showers bring May flowers, and oh, so true in New England!

Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.

I have 2 Friday Finds with Kim Klassen. The first is a flower made from a piece of hazel that has been peeled to make the petals and the second a hand-made little bowl....neither made by me!

A 5-blade ceiling fan at rest.

Had one morning class like always on Tuesday. Class went okay, although I was pretty tired considering I went to sleep pretty late again. It's starting to become a bad habit but I'm pretty sure I can break it. This semester is almost over, but the last few weeks shall consist of barely any sleep due to finals. After class, went straight home to work on photos and took a rest. Finally got some time to catch up on some sleep. Picked up Mindy and then worked on more photos, blogging, and the daily. Not much today and less motivated since I'm tired.

Happy New Year and time to let the cat out of the bag! Today sees the launch of photographywired.com - the blog-styled love-child of Disco~Stu and myself! Honed and shaped specifically to fill that photography-shaped void in your life that no other blog has come close to filling.

News, reviews, tutorials, interviews, tips, podcasts - we'll have it all, and updated daily. Along with a lot of Flickr-focused features and tings! All filtered through our very own personal fun twisting amusement contraptions. :)

We're also launching the associated Flickr group today - join now, add some photos to the pool, and take part in our grand experiment.

Head on over to the website proper and let us know what you think - you know us, you know we'll listen ;-)

Once again - happy new year (I'm literally raising my glass to you all right now!).

hugs, Paul.

p.s. In a way it kind of is a baby... we've been nurturing and suckling it for a while now... :)

Finally! A colorful sunset after the rainy days.

I was working late at the office at 2000 hours when I noticed that the skies look promising so I took a train ride to Richmond and was lucky to squeeze off a few shots.

The colors disappeared really fast!

Ahh back from a weekend in NY! Lots of pictures to go through and catching up to do :)

And damn was it limb-numbing cold.

Ooh I was tagged! I will do 16 random facts for my next one.

This is yesterdays picture. I got home late and was too tired to edit or upload.

Thanks again to my friend Sheebe/O.B. for helping out with this.

the light and shadows were better from this angle, i thought, but the tv is just gross. i need to set up a mini-studio in my house. =)

I was cleaning my kitchen table when I saw this lime, I thought it would make a good subject for gorgeous green Thursday so I snapped away :-)

Happy Gorgeous Green Thursday everyone!

ODC - journey

Shot on iPhone 5.

Just making the most of the morning light at the dog park. Took 1 minute to shoot. 10 minutes to edit up some options. And the rest of the day trying to decide which one to use. It's cub night tonight, and we had visitors over as well - so I'll catch you all tomorrow.

I have seen this done before by quite a few and I always wanted to give it a try. It was raining and getting dark as I started to head home from work, it all came together for this shot. More over it fits one of the groups weekly theme "Recreate a favorite image".

Day 122 of the 366 challenge 2016.

This White Heron (Ardea alba), commonly called by it's Maori name Kotuku, has been returning from the only breeding colony in New Zealand for the past three or four years. The breeding colony is near Okarito on the West Coast of the South Island, nearly due west of here, but the other side of the Southern Alps.

The experts know it is the same bird due to the ring of plastic around it's lower neck. It doesn't seem to stop it feeding, but the experts don't know how to catch the bird and remove the plastic collar without harming the bird.

Local photographers (and this is probably the most photographed single bird in Christchurch) has been named Harry.

It is in the Linwood Canal, a canal that never got completed due to railways arriving in Christchurch in 1863.

The Edmonds Garden is the remains of the garden at the now long gone Edmonds Baking Powder factory in Christchurch. The most famous cook book in New Zealand is the Edmonds Cookbook and is still published. After much wrangling part of the extensive gardens were kept and that is where today's Christchurch Photographer's Group meet up was.

The bench seat is made with a back replicating the old "sure to rise" logo.

A different process of the same previous image.

You're my boy, Blue! You're my boy… Frank.

He's no stranger to the 365 project, but today our Blue Great Dane got to take advantage of another beautiful day in Austin, Tx (Sunday Funday) with us as we spent the afternoon on a patio with some friends at one of our favorite bars Little Woodrows. All tuckered out, he was the perfect calm subject for this evening's picture. What a good boy he is!

Sometimes, I wish I could just hear the phone ring with his voice on the other end, asking if I would like to go somewhere. But with the great distance our hearts face at this moment in time, it isn't possible. Our "dates" are spent sharing FLICKR links and more. I have no problems with my best friends [including boyfriend] living all over the world but sometimes, I wish I could really see [besides photographs] and hear [besides in Youtube videos] them, too. Loneliness isn't always bliss even if you're a person like me who enjoys being alone, most the times.

Sorry this isn't so great.
