Food again today, but this time before it was cooked. I've never cooked fennel before, it's delicious.

San Juan, Puerto Rico. No es HDR !!!

Early morning sunglight. Working on my green thumb. I planted these seeds 2wks ago. Finally some sign of life. If I'm successful, I'll have lavender soon.

Plenty of chill dampness in the air this morning as the 1st of May brings rain showers mixed with snow!

Dandelion.

People believe that blowing the seeds carry your thoughts and dreams to loved ones.

This is my new picture for my 365 project.

What a fine and calm place at Spielmannsau nearby Oberstdorf / Bavaria.

The is absolutely nothing, only this one small street to the hotel.

Captured 3 separate pictures with a Nikon Df and a manual Nikkor Ai 35mm ƒ1:1.4, stitched together in Photoshop, post processed in Lightroom using VSCO Film.

The American crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos)

This fella is a regular in the yard. By the time I could get to the door and not take a shot through the rain soaked window, his mate had flown but he remained at his post. He seemed to share my patient, yet reluctant position. It is what it is. But there will be a point.

day 121...

Missed yesterday's photo. I have been helping hubby put in a new kitchen floor. Hope you all had a great weekend!

ah, the season of lights is rapidly coming upon us.

yes, this means the CLiC group is opening a tad early this year.

CLiC stands for Christmas Lights in Containers, but over the years we have broadened its scope to include any lights and the sky, or night, could be the container!!

and this year i am dedicating it to Bobbi Lewis, aka Pik Pix, who used to love taking pictures of lights to post :) i miss you, bobbi, and your positive and supportive comments!!

115 Pics in 2015 - Glass (67)

I was awake early and noticed the sunrise through the bathroom window, so rather than grabbing my dressing gown and going outside - i grabbed my phone and took a picture through the window. Not sure whether it works, but think the window pattern fits the repetition theme:-)

I don't live near an airport so here is an old holiday snap - one of the very first pictures I took with my brand new digital point and shoot.

Day 121 - light it up for me

Today I got a new piece of glass and wanted to try it out right away, so I went out into the snow and took a long walk shooting it the whole day wide open at f1.4 - I like it. The bokeh is stunning and the depth of field is as wide as a hair. Still trying to figure out, if the focus is spot on... that thing is a lady and wants to be handled with care (or a bit** and needs a firm hand).

I rarely get post with stamps on these days, and this one is nearly foreign! Just a quickie today, I'll catch up tomorrow but thank you for all your comments yesterday!

'day one hundred and twenty one' On Black

An explanation of how I achieved this effect:

I only had my compact Casio Exillim, which does not have fancy trailing curtain flash or similar frippery, so I simply had to play with a long exposure. I set the exposure time to about 10 seconds, and put the timer on. I triggered the timer, and had 10 seconds to get up the hill before the camera started the exposure. I then rolled down the hill at more or less a constant speed (you can see where I slowed down as the light trail gets a bit brighter), and came to a stop where you see my ghost. I stayed motionless, doing a trackstand, until the exposure ended, making an imprint of my image. Et voila!

20200430_6683_7D2-600 Web on fence (121/366)

The sun was just getting into the backyard when I saw this.

Shot with the 600mm f/4 lens at about 6-7m distance, and that put the house behind our property (and what shades the vege garden on autumn-winter-spring mornings) out of focus.

It shows a metal star picket stake holding up a trellis fence. I have attached a nail to the star picket to spike apples to for the local birds to eat, although at present have no sweet apples to give them.

20220501_7741_7D2-24 It is nearly all plastic! (121/365)

This week's Crazy Tuesday group theme is "Made of Plastic".

This is my last day of family isolation (I have now tested negative on day 3 and today, day 7) so decided to shoot this today as I might be out and about in the next few days!

This HO scale freight car is nearly all plastic, including the packaging! Only the wheels and parts of the couplers are metal!

All the broken wreck of the De Havilland could do was remember going down in a blaze of glory.

The hereios are visiting anything to do with airports. Since we live in the middle of nowhere, I was a bit stuck until I remembered that we do have Airfix Models (admittedly not yet finished and possibly broken).

also 30/52 - broken

60/215 - a bit of friday fun

(backdrop is the lid of the box!)

No prizes for guessing what this is ;-)

An excellent source of gratitude and inner peace is to spend a moment, every day, thinking of someone to love. Remember the old saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away?” The love equivalent might read, “Thinking of someone to love each day keeps your resentment away!”

If you give this little exercise a try, I think you’ll find that your day is a little more peaceful.

~Richard Carlson, author of the book “Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff…and it’s all small stuff”

I’ve been doing this exercise and I feel even better and happier. I appreciate more the small things in life and grateful for even the little blessings that come my way every day. So, I’m sending you my love, hope you have enough peace and love to share. Enjoy a sunrise or sunset without any resentment in your heart. Love ya, dear friends! ;)

After much nagging we decided to let Mini Tom join us on the afternoon dog walk. we had told him how beautiful the bluebells looked this time of year and he was very excited about seeing them for the first time. He just wouldn't stop taking photos!

We planted part of the garden last week and I am looking forward to the kale. So much kale will be coming because I planted 4 plants and can't wait to share with family and friends.

Today is one of those days that I am beating myself up and not loving my photos. I think I just need to walk away and not think about it and come back with fresh eyes tomorrow.

Apologies for the late upload, I didn't have much of a chance to get it done yesterday.

Okay so today I had about twenty minutes to spare until I had to pick Maddy up from netball practice so went down to Centennial Park to get some Autumn shots, but maybe due the unusually warm weather we've been having the trees were not ready for me, most were still quite green and lush even though you see a lot have dropped. I was slightly hopeful that I had some Autumn looking shots in the bag, when I saw what I had a few hours later, I was kinda disappointed..but the sun had gone down and getting too late /lazy to setup another lowlight shot I decided to get some PS therapy... I bumped up the saturation, adjusted the hue slider a little to the red, added some colour layers to soften the whole thing up .... then voila....here is my PS'd Autumn version...hope you like it.
