Wow... Explore #214! :)

It's a gorgeous day today!!! I've had this song in my head all day by Ben Harper.

It's so me!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Into the Light - Day 109 - Year 2022

---------------------------------------------------

Two (camera filtered) shots stacked

Spring means the sprouting of plants and insects begin to emerge as well. Today a Paper Wasp was crawling on a lid in the kitchen.

As a child I might have screamed, but now my first reaction is to grab the Nikon. It was not still, but I got a shot, sort of in focus.

This is my new picture for my 365 project for the weekly theme "Spaceship".

Great new theme for the new week - So; what I would take on my spaceship tour without taking any things with me, except memorabilia in pictures?

Definitely, it would be in my reminder of a garden smell, a fine Riesling white wine from Swabia in South of Germany, a Bavarian beer brewed in good old German traditions and my beloved camera with an old manual lens; with wich I took so many fine pictures.

All this would make me happy and I would remember the taste, haptik and feeling in one.

Captured with an iPhone, post processed in Lightroom using VSCO Film.

This beautiful flycatcher is fairly common at lower elevations in parts of the southwest. This photo does not do it justice!

Thanks so much for the faves and nice comments!

At least once in your life, you should stay up all night and wait for the sun to rise with your special someone.

Well currently my daily routine involves getting up and waiting for the sun to rise so I can work on my 365 photo. Now that the sun is coming up earlier and earlier every day I might not keep this particular routine. Although I can't sleep when the sunrise begins, the light starts to fill my room and I just am driven to leap out of bed and get moving.

I did a theme for the whole week, from Monday blues to Purple Saturday. If you haven’t noticed, check my postings for this week for your reference :-) So as not to miss a day for my theme week, I decided to do Miniature Sunday, my first try! :-)

Happy Miniature Sunday!

Day 109 - 365/2023 - A Never-Ending Journey

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Natural spot color

For Day 109 of 365. And for FGR "Bringing Sexy Back" day. And for lyrics and TRF. Super special thanks for all the help in trying to make this shot work right!

Today's random fact: I had a girlfriend that once told me I was never sexier than when I was sleeping. I'm not sure if that was a compliment or not.

Today's song is my favorite song of all time. I can listen to it over and over and never get tired of it. The emotion behind it just moves me.

"Somewhere North" by Caedmon's Call

It's a muggy night in Houston

And all the intersections are like full service stations

I'm on my way to a familiar place

It's cold in Kansas City

And you can no more hear me than I can see your face

How I wish it was just you and me

We wouldn't have to talk above the crowd

We wouldn't have to talk so loud

I give you my life and all I am

But what have I to give

So I hand you a candid photograph of this little boy

'Cause I have nothing to my name

But I can give you that

I don't miss the driving

Seems like forever

And I'm always driving in my mind

And wearing out the road that gets me there

And I'm driving till my eyes just can't see straight

But I suppose that it's getting late

I may never find the sleep

I've lost all feeling in my hands and

Feet may touch the ground but

My mind's somewhere north of here

Decided to take today's shot without moving the camera from where I'd left it sitting on its tripod last night... how lazy is that?

109/365: 2015

# 19 for April 2015: A month in 30 pictures

No time for anything else, so another low key still life today.

Taken on the corner of Sidney Street on the Eastside, Stepney facing Stepney Way, Whitechapel. Stepney Way runs from St Dunstan & All Saints Church in Stepney to New Road, Whitechapel, back in the 1800's known as Oxford Street. When we moved to the area in 1999 we use to go to the Oxford Arms which was on the right just before the Royal London Hospital you see in blue ahead. The link is a brief interesting read of the Oxford Arms pub. The history in the area is fascinating thankfully the streets are still here for us to imagine that bygone era.

I didn't take this one myself but terribly miss the boy who did.

My world feels a bit colorless now that you're gone. Buuuut I don't mean to pour out my sappy feelings over flickr!! :P

Happy Sunday everyone - hope yours is better than mine!

I had a lovely day out with a friend. We went to the shops just for fun, not really to buy anything. But I saw so many lovely pink things, I had to shoot something when I got home after I had resisted the urge to buy everything I saw! :p So my little lantern, in a daylight this time, got to come back to the stage.

Have a good week, all of you! xoxo

p.s. Thank you for your comments in my portrait shots! They mean a lot to me, every single one.

..that this summer 's gonna be a good summer!

friends tell friends sometimes if their talents run in other directions :) shirley and maude truly think she should stick to photography, since sculpting doesn't seem to be janette's strong suit.

still having such a good time in picmonkey with overlays. this is the white duck with, not just one, but 3 different overlays. i am not sure how i found the tie-dye screenshot, and i wish i could re-find it again *with* the artist's name, to give her/him/them credit. methinks it came from IG or FB. i found it in a lot of places but no name tagged.

A little Monopoly and tea at the cafe.

Todays theme on "Our Daily Challenge" is "Vanishing point". This is my backup that I took this morning as I came in to work.

There are two points of exit in this photo. One to the right and one in the vanishing point. A window that opens very low inviting anyone to jump out, eight stories high.... not my preferred vanishing point.

The sun is out!!

This one is from yesterday, didn't get time to go online. It's beautiful sunny day, I am going to head out now ;)

Project 365 (2017) | 19 April

Shot on iPhone 4. Today the family did a 12km hike through the Warrumbungles National Park. We stopped at a peak to look over this view for lunch, with the rock called the Breadknife in the foreground. I always feel inadequate as a photographer with a wide landscape like this and probably more so when I'm trying to capture it on the iPhone. I decided to try a poor-man's HDR (inspired by Neil, who is the master), and used an app that takes two images and combines them. It doesn't really pop but I don't think it really sucks either. At least I've had a go at something new, and had a great hike with my two girls as well.
