My husband Kevin and I had just put our 15 yr old Cocker Spaniel Joie to sleep on Thursday July 14, 2011. This was a terible lost for us having put our springer spaniel to sleep the previous March. Kevin had always been adamant, " Once Joie passes away we are not getting any more dogs. " I just can't go throught this again." I do not work on Fridays; when Kevin came home he asked how my day had been? He said you must have been lonely. I said that I was very lonely, I haven't been without a dog since I was 15yrs old, that was 40 yrs ago. Kevin agreed and stated that we have always had dogs since we were married. He next statement floored me; man, are Cocker Spaniels expensive. I asked did you go on line? Yes, he replied, they can run as high as $2,500. I then said yes but there is Cocker Rescue. The next question out of Kevin's mouth was did you go on line? Yup, is it still up on the computor? Yup. Have you picked one out? Yup. With lighting speed we fill out the adoption application. And within 6 days Becky with Cocker Spaniel rescue brought our beautiful DaVinci home to live with us. Kevin and I both proudly display bumper stickers that read "Who rescued Who?" We are so grateful to Cocker Spaniel Rescue. they not only rescued a beautiful Cocker Spaniel but two Humans as well.
