Conwy Castle Coordinates..... 53.28°N 3.825556°W
Conwy Castle (Welsh: Castell Conwy) Is a fortification in Conwy, located in North Wales. It was built by Edward I, during his conquest of Wales, between 1283 and 1289. Constructed as part of a wider project to create the walled town of Conwy, the combined defences cost around £15,000, a huge sum for the period. Over the next few centuries, the castle played an important part in several wars. It withstood the siege of Madog ap Llywelyn in the winter of 1294–95, acted as a temporary haven for Richard II in 1399 and was held for several months by forces loyal to Owain Glyndŵr in 1401..
Following the outbreak of the English Civil War in 1642, the castle was held by forces loyal to Charles I, holding out until 1646 when it surrendered to the Parliamentary armies. In the aftermath, the castle was partially slighted by Parliament to prevent it being used in any further revolt, and was finally completely ruined in 1665 when its remaining iron and lead was stripped and sold off. Conwy Castle became an attractive destination for painters in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Visitor numbers grew and initial restoration work was carried out in the second half of the 19th century. In the 21st century, the ruined castle is managed by Cadw as a tourist attraction.

Last night my friend Kev and Myself took a venture up to Nun's Cross Farm on Dartmoor. It's an abandoned farm up by Prince town. We didn't really have a clue how to get there as we'd never been there before. We drove as far as well could on the road and then walked using Google Maps on my phone. It was about half a mile before we got to the farm house which loomed out of the darkness when we arrived. We found a spot, set up our cameras and starting getting a few test shots. Once we were happy we started taking various shots of the stars and the farmhouse. It was our first time doing anything like this and it was really difficult to get everything in focus as it was pitch black with nothing to focus on. By lightpainting the farmhouse we got the shots we wanted. During the shoot we had a very inquisitive fox come and join us and it was a pretty amazing thing to witness!
The rear view of Wollaton Hall, on a snowy day in Nottingham.
Built in the 1580's for Sir Francis Willoughby, Wollaton Hall was designed by Robert Smythson, (who also built Hardwick Hall and Longleat), and is built from ancaster stone, from Lincolnshire. The Willoughbys had originally become rich though the ownership of coal mines, but as the coal began to run out, the family fortunes suffered. The hall fell into disuse in the late 19th century, and was bought from the by Nottingham Council and re-opened in 1925 as a museum. Recently, it featured as the new Wayne Manor in the final part of Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy, The Dark Night Rises.
Taken with a Nikon D40, fitted with a Nikkor AFS DX 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G II lens, and processed in Picasa, GIMP, and Photoscape.

There isn't a decent Batman movie title to go with my reflective shot so no point trying!
Hong Kong, Central, Connaught Rd. This location was used in the film Batman "The Dark Knight" for the China scene. In the center are the two IFC towers and alongside the street in the background the bank of china tower.

A dark purple gladioli photograhed this afternoon, Sunday 5th July, 2020, along Edgeworth David Drive at Hornsby, in northern Sydney. I discovered it by sheer accident as I was walking to the Waitara Magpies Club to watch the NRL football match on the big screen!!
And there it was, all alone in the late afternoon in mid-winter, growing against a yellow-painted concrete wall in a most urban, and un-garden like precinct in Hornsby - opposite the car-park entry into the giant Hornsby Westfield shopping centre. No other gladioli friends in sight, and only a clump of orange nasturtions nearby for support. Quite a bizarre thing.
Photographed with a Samsung Galaxy S20+ mobile phone camera, and processed in Snapseed whilst watching the Newcastle Knights currently leading the Manly-Warringah Sea-Eagles, 14-6, in the NRL.
So, a 'Dark Knight' I am calling it. But wait, a score update - it's Knights 14-12. Very close!
And this was the final score - so the Dark Knight wins!!

I'd thought of this image on the way down to the meet up knowing that everyone would have their own unique take on this building. My love of movies gave me the title instantly but once there, the execution proved a lot harder to achieve and many multi exposure attempts later, this is the best of the bunch - those in the know will be chuckling over my symmetry addiction!
In the end, not sure if this has worked or connects with the title, which is what it was meant to convey. But the object of the day was to meet people, discuss ideas and try new things so here's my take on Batman.... we've all friends now so let me know what you 'truly' think!
