I Seriously, wasn't going to go out this night... Had a weeks worth of hell, and I really just wanted to do was get off work and go home. I was tired, I was cranky, it was the first weekend I've had off in a Month...
As soon as I pulled into the driveway @home, I could hear the weather radio going off and my storm capturing sensation came over me. Listening to the bullitins coming over the radio and I Freaked!. The storms were closer than I had thought. NWS just put warnings for Northern Buffalo County for super fast development of strong to potentially super severe, with large hail, and possible Tornadoes.
Photography Chance of a lifetime... Even though someone could cast me as a member of the Walking Dead....I was a trooper and I didn't wimp out! Luckily I had the my camera on the charger... Grabbed all my equipment & I hauled A** North... 20 mins later I found myself in the perfect spot, under the perfect conditions!
Cresting over northern Buffalo County, ready to cross between Pleasanton & Ravenna Nebraska, this cell was rapidly building and already had tornado warning on it. Incredible CG lightning in front of the storm cell was just to good to capture, with lighting firing off every few seconds.

Standing next to my xinagrafx/Matt Siren collaboration piece for Sign Language / Street Language Show at Woodward Gallery – May 10, 2008
One of the rare pictures of me that I allow to exist. This shows one of the "flaws" of the camera, but I LOVE the effect it makes. The light falloff near the top of the frame creates a dark cloud over my head, much reflecting how life actually is. Ironic, or just ominous?
In reality, the day was overcast, and the lighting should have been almost perfectly flat. The shade matches that in other frames, so it's something in the camera that's causing a drastic falloff of light. Also, I apologize for the framing. My wife took the picture and complained that she couldn't see anything in the viewfinder at all.
This old man was walking faster and faster. Got to reach home before it rains.
Sun set before 5mins. Shot this near Vazaipaadi, Salem, Tamilnadu (India).
Unavoidable grains with ISO1600.
With manual setting I was taking photo in the other direction which was bright. Suddenly realized the old man walking this direction and took the photo with the same setting and got it dark :-((.
Eventhough... kind of like it :-)

Storms were to develop early afternoon but the dry line stalled. Late afternoon into mid evening the dry line pushed just to the west of our location.
Rarely do we get to see the full development from nothing to a full fledged supercell and this one had fast development resulting in some of my best storm photography for 2012
